Bump - I have heard multiple reports of characters disappearing during an error code screen. It seems as though it started happening around the last hot fix and the "unplanned" maintenance they did not too long ago.
I really hope they address and fix this serious issue. I also hope they either restore your character or something. I would honestly just sell my Xbox One if this happened to my main Warlock. All those hours, grinding, and lucky rng rolls just vanished. I would never wish that on my worst enemy. All that time wasted for nothing and then you have to spend another 1,500 hours just to get back on track.
People say "move on" and "live with it", but that's total bullshit when it is Bungie's fault and responsibility. Then Bungie has the audacity to respond with automated, copy-and-paste responses... Like seriously? How are you going to find out about these issues when you have robots responding to serious problems?!

You're 100% correct on this. They have an unplanned server issue and it causes people to lose their data, only to have this problem swept under the rug with a generic response that's accusatory is real bad on Bungie's part. Is this where all my money and devotion to a game went? This needs to be addressed

^^ This guy gets it. For someone to say "just move on" is pretty asinine to a hardcore player who has a lot of time and emotional investment tied up in a game that he really loves. The way you treat loyal customers says a lot about your business. I do believe Bungie will make everyone, including Gem, whole on this. If they don't...that's how empires fall. They are going to lose a lot of us to disillusionment.
