[/quote] I agree with most of the changes made in this update, excluding the changes to the tripmine. That's not what I'll be talking about today. I also believe that since the base damage of GG was increased, Hammer of Sol should get its original armor boost back, so long that GG could still one shot them. [b]HOWEVER[/b], I believe the nerf to the throwing knives was unnecessary. Most of the player base in PvP rocks a high armor build. In addition, throwing knives are more of a last resort to win a gunfight, and most of the time the enemy will die from the impact of the knife. Personally, I can count on one hand the times I've killed someone with the burn from a knife. Please, let's keep it civil here. TL;DR- Unnecessary Throwing Knife nerf. From my experience, Throwing Knives are used to finish off players, and are usually killed by the initial impact. Who gets killed by the burn? Edit: Most *competitive* players run high armor builds, except for some Titan and Hunter builds. Still, a large portion of blueberries (randos) have a split build, or they have a decent amount of armor. We also kind of have a pen1s poll going. Nice.

    150 - 142 damage per throw headshot is negligible and doesn't impact the ability to shoot once - throw and get the kill. Pulse rifles do about 75 damage per burst with headshots (f u grasp of OP with the right perks) and hand cannons which are amazing right now. The burn damage was the real issue. It was very very easy to 1 shot low armored targets in a single throwing knife. 150 or more headshot damage and then 7 x 4 was 188 damage which is the low Armor HP number on hunters and warlocks. I did it quite a bit even when goofing off. Blade dancers and void walked especially ate this a lot. The universal burn changes, which don't get me started on, fixed this issue by lowering the burn damage to 4 and is 16 damage... but again the damage isn't noticeable on the actual impact.

    Well, first off, It's easier to kill an enemy with a crap-soaked knife than a sanitary knife. The Hive know this better than anyone.

  • Low armour targets are being killed in one shot due to incendiary blade. Let's just nerf the damage overall instead of the burn. I'm not angry over the change, more annoyed how it was handled, since Melee damage as a whole was nerfed on the gunslinger class, when damage comes in to play, throwing knife is still a fantastic opener and closer, which I keep forgetting I have.

    • Somebody also explained that the damage it did was too much for the range it could be used at because apperently some people were getting cross map kills or whatever. So when bungie said incendiary was the problem they werent telling the whole story and they felt there were problems with the base knife which were also the cause of incendiaries problems. I think.

    • Bungie seem to nerf things on the very wim of the cretinous that complain about being wrecked with this that and the other, instead of just GETTING GOOD WITH THAT WHAT WRECKS YOU AND TURNING IT AROUND ON YOUR FOES!! Vex got nerfed because people were too shit to do a raid to get the weapon, or they are socially challenged so they can't get friends to help them, so they got wrecked at the hands of those that deserve to wield it. Too many noobs. IF YOU EARN THE RIGHT TO BE ALL POWERFUL THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE ALL POWERFUL! Anyway, trip mines rocked as a sticky, the nerf is the end of my nade life.

        • People started running low armor high recovery builds recently and I think that revealed the flaw. I think the idea is only a few attacks should have one shot potential: Supers Special Weapons (not sidearms) Heavy Weapons The fact that it had the potential to be a one shot melee was the issue. Prevalent? No, but the potential was there.

            • Whether or not the burn was a problem, reducing base knife damage because of a perk instead of nerfing that perk is not a smart idea. I don't understand how some of these things even make it out of playtesting....

            • Every class but hunter have one hit kill nades or melee and no nerfs. Playing hunter is the hardest and takes the most skill but do the least damage not to mention the weak supers.. Can anyone explain?

                • It was a PVE fix so you couldn't run around COE and use unlimited knives to boost points (precision + melee) all the mobs in the 3rd round.

                  • Why cater to the people that run low armor? That's why they run with low armor, to get extra recovery and agility, why make them stronger when they [b]choose[/b] to have low armor. I don't understand why they would complain that they were getting one shotted.

                  • The damage nerf to Tripmine was unnecessary. They should be traps, but most people who aren't Hunters run Max Armor/Recovery specifically to survive Tripmines and get back into the fray immediately. They should at least detonate fast enough to hurt a sprinting Guardian. Throwing Knives are a bit more complicated, but Bungie's bungling is infuriating. They claim that Incendiary Blade was OHKOing low armor players and wanted to fix that. Fine with me, but instead of nerfing/removing the burn DoT, they lower the Base Damage of TK altogether! Ultimately, this hurts [i]Knife Juggler[/i] more than Incendiary Blade, because now Gunslingers are forced to use Hawkmoon or High Impact HCs (which suck) if they want to clutch-counter High Armor Shotgun Warriors and Shoulder Charge with Knife Juggler consistently. Personally, I'd boost TK's precision damage by 6% (142->150), and change Incendiary Blade to: "Precision Kills with Throwing Knife trigger explosions, damaging and burning nearby enemies." But don't get it twisted. All in all, Gunslingers were buffed in the last update. Golden Gun is badass in PvE, and Circle of Life has great synergy with Scavenger.

                    • They said they didn't want people to get one hit by throwing knives but I've never 1 hit anyone with a throwing knife. Now if they were talking about in iron banner and trials then low light players deserve to get one hit. Isn't that the point of level advantages? If not then get rid of level advantages. I want to use my year one weapons. Lol

                      • Agreed, although I don't see much of a difference now. As you said it's more of a last resort so you don't throw a knife on a full health enemy anyway, and I still kill the same than before the patch... Tripmine nerf is much worse!!!

                      • This is a very good question that #Deej or #Cozmo should look into and advise. I check into the forums all the time and read many threads about nerfing this or that, but the only thing I ever read about throwing knives is that precision shots should be able to one shot kill (which I tend to agree with). So bungies reaction..... ignore the complaints about shoulder charging (again, agree with. No need to nerf this at all) and break the throwing knives. However, to be honest, as you needed to shoot enemies a few times for throwing knife head shots to kill anyways I'm not too sure it's made much of a difference.

                      • I'll never understand two things about the throwing knife: 1) Why does it have any aim assist at all? 2) Why would it NOT kill with a headshot? (Provided #1 was fixed)
