I get that nerfs are frustrating, but the forums seem to be full of people saying that buffs are better for the game.
I don't want destiny to become another COD. I like having some time to out shoot/out play my opponent.
And this is where buffing and increasing time to kill for all weapon archetypes will get us.
I'm not saying I agree with the specific weapons and ways they chose to balance guns...but nerfs are important to keep the game from becoming a twitchy COD rip off.

Buffs would be way more frustrating. Clearly nobody remembers what it was like to have time to kill like back in the thorn last word era

Edited by Truthiness_Inc: 6/14/2016 9:19:39 PMWe would need to undo dozens of nerfs to get to vanilla status let alone CoD get out of here with that shit.

I'm not denying that. Several nerf bats have been hitting guns that I'm not sure really needed it. I'm saying that buffs to everything will cause us problems too. I really enjoyed vanilla destiny. Back when my greatest nemesis was suros regime and the rare but powerful mythoclast. I just dont wanna lose the gunfight aspect of the game because everthing hits too damn hard.

...em no. I don't want gun fights to be reduced to 1 second sprays and then whoever shot first no matter how sloppy would win because bullets hurt too much. Just because I hit harder too doesn't mean I am happy. I want there to be enough time for using cover and the potential that my opponent will land less headshots than I do (or vice versa) and engagements can be won by skill at least sometimes. Therefore I'm preaching caution to the buff everything mindset that seems to be so prevalent. I'm not saying nothing should ever get buffed.

But whatever though let's nerf the world for you so you don't lose gunfights where you DIDN'T hit first. This is why we can't have anything nice.

Your right, 1 second was a poor choice of words. But my point was still there if you had chosen to see it. I suppose you'd rather have every weapon kill in one hit so you can have your effortless victories? That's fine. You aren't alone in that belief. Not many people enjoy a challenge these days. I can see that nothing I have to say will sway you, so have a good day sir.

You do realise the ttk is double what it was year one right? You know the year wveryone wishes the game was still like?
-
That's true. But the question is is it possible to buff guns to the point where it will make special weapons a less of a need and not make primarord point .1 second
-
The main problem imo, is that there aren't strong limits on the distances that special weapons are lethal. Shotguns aren't too bad these days, but snipes are so effective at all ranges that there are few reasons not to try and use your special as much as humanly possible. And there are some really powerful perks available for special weapons that make the problems worse. Something does need to be done. I love the primary battles, but I don't think buffing primary weapons to the point that nobody wants to use special is the answer either. Specials are just too easy to use outside of their respective ranges. Maybe some more changes to the perks available for special weapons would help. Weaken the "god rolls" so that a skilled hand shines through *shrug*
