Yep the only thing im worried about is... Is the extra cost going to be worth it... If every game has to be made for both of the x1s does that mean the games will suffer??? Kinda like the whole "last gen is ruining destiny"... if all games work on both systems and you dont have a 4k tv what will be the big difference other then say less or no frame rate drops??? Or is this more like true (kinda) pc power in an easy to use console???

  • it's pretty much an xbox version of an HTPC, their answer to a steambox HTPC. until further revisions or specs are revealed, i expect it to be a very hot running system.

  • Basically if they are developing for Scorpio they need to be able to scale so they can also be on Xbox One and Xbox One S.

  • Yeah i get that...maybe im just not getting the point of it... I understand its a lot more powerful but what will be the noticeable difference between a game on x1 and scropio??? Better frame rate smoother graphics better lighting??? Stuff like that im guessing...

Xbox is trying to do a console reset and push for the "next gen" to come in 4 year cycle rather than the 360s 8 year cycle and Xbox original 5 year cycle. The point is to try to get ahead of Sony. Essentially Sony will have to slap a new console to release next year in order to prevent Xbox from getting a lead. It's likely that Sony can rebound and get something in the pipeline but doubtful it will be released the same time. It seems MS has been planning for this for for some time while Sony was only trying to make a beefy VR console with 4K for the fall but Xbox didn't counter with an equal system, they instead has been working on a system way more powerful than ps4 neo. Sony could jump through hoops to meet a similar release but I doubt it will be in the same 90 day window. MS knows xbox one will not be able to catch ps4 but Xbox Scorpio resets the console war prematurely at 4 years catching Sony with its proverbial pants down. Ps4 neo was just a mild bump up to do 4K and VR and Scorpio is a new console and way more powerful. The result Sony is going to have to scrap neo or release neo while also scrambling to make a "third" console.

  • Or just continue doing what they are doing... The Scorpio seems like an option more than a console reset. That's if The Xbox division stick to their word about all three consoles co-existing. If that changes then the backlash alone will probably screw them up again. Especially those who buy into the XB1S. Without a price point as well, I'm very sceptical about it.
