Why wasn't Eris banished for the creation of the touch of malice, even if it was oryx 's plan to have it creates eventually?

 • Desperate times call for desperate measures...
In all honesty, no clue. The Vanguard might be turning a blind eye because of all of Eris's help during the Taken War. Or maybe they simply don't know about it.
• Seems plausible that the vanguard may not even know about it entirely. How does a simple (okay she's not simple) blade dancer come to be able to create a weapon of sorrow. Toland had some interesting bond/understanding with the darkness, the thorn from corruption of the rose, the necro was made by hive from guardian tech. Other than the step by step instructions from the calcified fragments how was she able? Side note: is Eris who we really think she is. Isn't one of oryxes sisters main nature cunning, could this be her in disguise?

 • Eris was taught Hive magics personally by Toland. Coupled with her weird rock, piercing voices in her head, and the Calcified Fragments, I think she's perfectly capable of making a WoS. I don't really think it's that likely that she is Savathûn

 • Oh yeah that weird rock what's up with that thing, is it a shard of something bigger/more import any, didn't know that she was personally taught by Toland, very interesting that. Are her inner voices from the rock or is that a side effect of her spending all that time in the darkness, she seems a tad crazy, but just crazy enough. I don't really see it either but as I'd seen some folks talking about the possibility I figured I'd ask a lore expert.

 • This may be me being really simple but isn't the Rock the shard of Crotas soul? Or did she have it before lost to light

 • I've heard the rock may be a worm, but I think it is a shard of a Hive sword, possibly the Sword of Crota. The voices seem to be a mixture of both, and may be amplified by the rock.
