Which Pokemon game is the best?

Red

47

Blue

23

Yellow

40

Notice I didn't include any of that Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire, Diamond/Pearl, Black/White, X/Y bullshit. That's because Generation I is real Pokemon and everything else is just a pale imitation. There are only three valid choices here: Red, Blue, and Yellow.
EDIT: Ugh, you guys... I'm being sarcastic. The other games are not complete garbage. I do genuinely prefer Gen 1, but I can see merit in all of the Pokemon games. Gen 2 in particular is very well-made and it preserves the style and themes introduced in Gen 1, to the point that it's pretty much just Gen 1 on steroids, and I actually enjoyed Gold/Silver/Crystal a lot... I just prefer Gen 1 because it has an element of freshness and originality that comes from being the first in the series. (And nostalgia plays a role there too - I'll admit it.) It wasn't until Gen 3 that things really started going off the rails and changing the tone of the games, but even now, after all of the dubious evolutions this series has endured, I can still see merit in the new titles. They just don't feel like Pokemon to me. They've changed too much. For someone who grew up with Gen 1, being sold the mantra of finding "all 151 Pokemon", it just feels like the series didn't need to continue past that point. I beat the Elite Four. I caught Mewtwo. I became the Pokemon Master, and now it's just redundant to keep doing it over and over again. [/rant]

And for the record, Yellow is the best.
• So on this next stop on our tour we have what most people call a "genwunner". However recent scientific studies have found that other video game fandoms have their own versions of "genwunners", isn't that something? Scientists have dubbed this naturally occurring phenomena as "video game elitism". Very commonly found among the PC gaming crowd. These are people who believe their opinion matters more than other people's opinion, and only they are right. Aren't they adorable? Ok, so if you'll follow me this way we can continue our tour of the forums...
