Destiny vs Witcher 3

Why am I comparing Destiny to Witcher 3? My way of celebrating Bungie day (a day late)... It's time to blame Activision :) EDIT : So a lot of people are calling me an "idiot" and "retarded" and using "click bait" after admitting they didn't watch the video. Thanks to those in the community who actually watched it and have taken the time to defend me. I never intended this to be click bait or something that would anger so many people. It's just a simple comparison between how the games were published and how I think that affected the content size and DLC practices.

  • So I'll say straight up that I can't watch the video (don't ask). However I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I prefer the witcher 3. Whilst the gameplay isn't revolutionary ( though I have spent hours levelling and enjoying fighting monsters as a witcher, more so than I have as a guardian) I can say however that the story of the witcher 3, and all the series for that matter, owing to its detailed characters, plot devices, setting and embedded lore. The main protagonist( Geralt of Rivia) is not a God who can take on an assortment of time traveling space robots and mind controlling aliens.(though we do have some really tall teleporting elves who like ice but hate ice, it makes sense if you've played the game.) hell they even involve politics in the mix. While one could argue that destiny has lots of lore hidden in the grimoire cards...that's just not good enough. The witcher series has bounds of lore all over the landscape, as well as the book series it's based of which offers even more. Destiny on the other hand has a terrible main story (though ttk is much better) and lore hidden, not Within in game item descriptions and character dialogue like dark souls, but rather on an internet based unlock able database. While I have few qualms with this setup the big thing about it is that it's not available in game. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for databases the help enlighten you to the story and lore of the world you play in, as long as it's in game. Take the bestiary for example, a database of information on monsters (and another section for characters) you've met or fought that offers information and descriptions as well as quotes on them AND tips for fighting them rather than just short cards with snippets of info that rather than taking some thought to understand like dark souls are instead spread thinly amongst numerous cards. Rather than developing anything other than cliche showdowns involving people like "Dredgen Yor" and "Shin Malphur" they choose to create a story than throw it in the trash and make an new one a year before release. Where witcher involves a myriad of monsters and magic that are based and named after creatures from European mythology, destiny creates an assortment of aliens, robots, and "Ahamkara" the likes of which you never encounter! Many of which are different sizes for no apparent reason( at least I think they don't explain why Kelly's are bigger than vandals or Valus ma'aul is bigger than a centurion.) I can say that I honestly love Destiny and its lore but I love witcher 3 just that little bit more. Touching the gameplay side however is really more of a preference thing. If our like PvE more witcher 3 is better if you like broken PvP more play destiny. The broken thing was a joke but destiny pvp is pretty shity in comparison owing largely to its weak assortment of enemies, pvp based combat, assortment of cheeses, and apparent lack of difficulty outside of 6 player puzzle like fights. Honestly the hardest thing I've found outside of the pvp is trying to do the kf jumping puzzle for the first time with a relatively speaking low agility hunter using better control. TLDR Destinys story is hidden behind a fairly weak assortment of cards and has relatively bad pve. It isn't interesting like dark souls, just boring to look for. Nearly the opposite of witcher. Destiny PvP. Witcher PvE and story. I choose witcher.
