This nation, since its founding, has been founded and based off Judeo-Christian virtues and morals. I can prove this to you with 5 undeniable facts.
1) The photo, clearly showing Moses holding the 10 commandments in the supreme court (that's the highest court for the foreigners).
2) Along with #1, many of the actual laws used in the USA has been based off of this same values. For example:
-do not kill
-do not steal
3) In the Pledge of Allegiance, we clearly say, "...one nation, under god". This is undeniable evidence that the US favors Judeo-Christian values.
4) If you look at the back of US currency, it says "In God We Trust", which is our nation's motto. Need I say more?
5) In the US Constitution, it states that the government may not interfere with the Church. That is why churches do not pay taxes. Churches do not need to follow the US law because they only need to serve God's law. The US government accepts that.
I hope these facts have shown you the truth of the matter. We need to stay firm in our faith and it will keep the nation strong. Thanks for reading and educating yourself.

2 RepliesEdited by LahDsai: 5/25/2016 4:54:54 AM#2 isn't a good argument. I mean, in what society is killing and stealing legit? It's like you're barely even trying.

2 RepliesThe thing is though, (especially with the rising number of non-Christian Americans) separation of church and state needs to be kept a two way street. I'm fine with many American ideals being based on Christian beliefs, but passing laws that force people to follow or obey directly Christian specific laws regardless of their personal beliefs and saying "too bad" when non-Christians react in opposition and protest may not be government infringing on your belief, but it does on everyone else's.

The United States was founded by people who felt strongly enough about their religious convictions to leave Europe. So obviously it's going to have an impact on the nation, that being said these facts are weak. 1) Moses being on the building is irreverent it has nothing to do with religion, he is there as a representation of lawmaking and judgement. Hermon A. MacNeil (the designer) submitted the following description of his work to the Supreme Court Building Commission: "Law as an element of civilization was normally and naturally derived or inherited in this country from former civilizations. The "Eastern Pediment" of the Supreme Court Building suggests therefore the treatment of such fundamental laws and precepts as are derived from the East. Moses, Confucius and Solon are chosen as representing three great civilizations and form the central group of this Pediment. Flanking this central group - left - is the symbolical figure bearing the means of enforcing the law. On the right a group tempering justice with mercy, allegorically treated." http://www.supremecourt.gov/about/eastpediment.pdf Also inside the courtroom there is a sculpture showing eighteen historical law makers including, Muhammad who is depicted holding the Qur’an. http://www.supremecourt.gov/about/northandsouthwalls.pdf 2) Those concepts are not exclusive to Judeo-Christianity they appear in The Babylonian Code of Hammurabi that predate Moses by 300 years 5. The First Amendment's Establishment Clause prohibits the government from making any law “respecting an establishment of religion.” This clause forbids the government from establishing an official religion, and also prohibits any government actions that favor one religion over another. It does not say that the church is above or can ignore the law. The Church does't pay tax because the tax code exempts any nonprofit organizations from federal taxes.

I know it's bait but 3 and 4 (God in pledge and on money) wasn't implemented until the late 1950s and was mostly due to fear of communism.

4 RepliesNo shit. America was founded on the freedom of religion. This was mainly Christianity, which wasn't accepted back then. Simple Strawman argument really.
