The Truth about SBMM in Destiny: How it affects the community

After researching stats / testing out PVP on a new account, simply turning SBMM off isn't the answer. Far more people will be hurt by the change than we think. I'm not saying every gaming being ultra competitive is right either.... but we need to look a the greater good instead of what is best for the top players.

  • You failed to mention how SBMM has caused atrocious lag. If turning SBMM on is what made the problem, then turning it off is the solution. I'm not a top 1% player, so I am not biased towards "pubstomping"(we called it curbstomping back in my day). I am however unable to enjoy the PVP simply because of the insane lag. My connection is the same as it was when Destiny was released, yet these days I can't find a match that doesn't involve lag ruining the experience for me. When I play with my friend who recently got Destiny, I can enjoy the matches and even whoop ass left and right, not because my opponents are a bit less skilled, but because the lag isn't nearly as bad. If there was little to no lag, I would not mind playing against people of my skill level. But there is lag, and it is caused by finding that player who connected to a potato yet still retains epic skills. You have to realize by now that because you are a Youtuber who is a highly skilled player, your opinion is even less relevant than the hoards and swarms of players who regularly experience bad connections due to our skills levels.
