Destiny Professions

It's kind of a long read. I apologize for that. I've always thought it would be awesome to have professions added to Destiny. So I decided to sit down and think of a fool proof way for professions to be implemented while maintaining a simple and pleasant experience for all player types. Now, I know that they will probably in no way ever add professions to the current Destiny game, but maybe with a little push from the community, we could entice them to add it in Destiny 2. To start off, I want to explain why we would want professions, how they would work, and how you as a player could benefit from having a profession. Now to be clear, my idea of professions isn't like some games where you have to spend days upon days working the profession in order to reap the benefits. It would be a much more simple approach, allowing players of any age to enjoy the system without putting it too much effort. A system that will add to the core game play scope vs pulling away from it, in it's own direction. So, the reason I feel professions would be a good addition to the game is because we have all these items we buy from vendors already in the game, but what if we could take pride in the idea that we created those items, or that we scavenged the schematics and resources necessary to craft those items. And what if we could buy and sell those items for glimmer. Now, I know what you're thinking. We can't have a trading system in destiny!!! It will break the game!! Well what if we could? What if all those items we crafted had predetermined values associated with them. Values that cannot be changed. Values, that when posted on said trade house, will automatically fill in. Again, these values cannot be changed by players nor can the items be traded through any other means aside from the trading house. But I bet some of you are thinking, “what if someone decides to try and sell an item on eBay or somewhere else for real money?” Well, because of the simplicity of this system, there will be so many people crafting items of each kind that the supply will never be low enough to dry out the market and create an economic anomaly with certain items. Now to ingress further on this topic, the items can't be promised to anyone even if they did pay real money for it, because they would still have to buy it from the trade house where anyone else would have access to it at the same time. Remember, there is no player to player trading. Now, let's look at what we've got. - A trading system that is completely fool proof. - Players can only sell these crafted items, and they can only be priced by the automatic value associated with that item. (No inflation/deflation) - Players have to post items on the trade house in order to sell them. Now think about how much more you as a player can enjoy Destiny when you not only have more in game activities, but also get the pride of knowing that others might be using some of the items you crafted. This will bring a fresh taste to the Destiny experience. Plus, you will have a better way to make glimmer as well as items to spend it on. With this, of course, Bungie would probably have to raise the glimmer cap a little. Maybe something like a 30k or 40k cap. Moving on to how crafting works. This part is pretty simple. Step 1: Choose a profession ( Gear / Weapons / Sparrows / Shaders / Resources) Step 2: Loot schematic (Random drops. Once you have identified a schematic it no longer drops) Step 3: Collect necessary resources Step 4: Craft item Of course, some of the items like exotics will require more work to gather what is needed, but will never be a huge amount of work. The work involved to make an item will balance with the value of that item. Step 5: Post item on trade house So, that’s pretty much it. How could this be implemented? Well I think it would be fantastic if Bungie could create a specific area in the Tower or central social location of Destiny 2 that has the different crafting stations and allows us as players to go and interact with the necessary equipment needed to craft items. For more information about the items and the values they could be assigned, refer to this link here of a spreadsheet I mocked up. I'd like to hear other thoughts.
