I posted this in year one asking for a mode like this but referenced Diablo 3 where I am a hardcore advocate. The idea of perma-death doesn't appeal to some people but I would certainly make a character. Imagine making it all the way to the Oryx raid having not died once. This would be insanely difficult in Destiny since most enemies can kill you pretty quickly but I'd still give it a go.
There are very few things in gaming that offer the rush that a hardcore mode does. Nothing will get your heart going as much as having the character you've spent hours on almost dying. It's actually pretty awesome. I would love to see this mode in Destiny. Sadly, I don't think this will happen because this community lacks the maturity. All in all it's a great mode and a solid idea but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Well, death in a darkness zone. If you die in patrol or something it won't cause anything bad.

That's not the way hardcore works, bud. You die, you're dead. There's no turning back. It works in Diablo style games because you can overpower the content to a large degree with good gear. Destiny isn't like that so it would be a lot tougher.

Wow! I said only darkness zone deaths wipe, so only darkness zone deaths wipe.
