It's been a long road since the big auto rifle nerf from the dark below (update 1.1.1 in case anyone's wondering). Ever since the autos have been struggling to find their place in the meta and I was just curious on everyone's stance as of now.
I would enjoy if this thread stayed salt free but what am I gonna do. Feel free to search for any grammar mistakes I've made as well

They need the range reduced, other than that they're fine

Even though pvp feels quite balanced right now, I feel sooner or later we will have most people using Doctrines, Arminius (or whatever it's called) or Haakons Hatchet. Less skill and more spray, just like Vanilla Destiny was. I had a stable Haakons in Iron Banner and it wrecked faces. I still prefer a hand cannon though.

Low RoF guns aren't too useful in any activity. I find myself reloading A LOT with them due to the small magazine size. I have more kills with Zhallo than any gun though but I would love to see it slightly buffed for pve

The changes to ARs were completely obsolete. They did nothing. High RoF had a damage nerf of 2.3% per bullet, which is literally minus 1 damage per bullet (27>26 for example) Low RoF had a buf of 2.5% per bullet, which is literally plus 1 damage per bullet (27>28 for example) This basically did nothing. Since the high RoF can pump out bullets so fast, they aren't hurt by the nerf at all. It takes one extra bullet (so like .000004 seconds) for a kill. On the other hand, since the low RoF shoot so slow, it still takes a long time to pump out those bullets, and with such a minimal increase in damage, it is essentially a nonfactor. Doctrine is still going to beat any other AR (assuming both enemies are equally skilled)

They're alright but doctrine is great

I think theyre great as of now. Its nice not being killed by Last Word/Mida all the damn time

From what I've experienced Bungie's data experts must be having a fit with all of the usage. Had every intention of using Bad Juju, but was getting hosed by everyone using AR's, so I grabbed a max stability answering chord and immediately stated to see improved play. Then it happened, I got a hatchet to drop with almost the same roll as the vendor except I got rodeo instead of range and I started really putting the hurt on people. Used it until I got rank 5 and picked up the vendor version. Tested out both and found that rodeo didn't improve the recoil that much with the other two stability perks active so I infused it into the vendor version and took the extra range.
