Aside from the fact that a sci-fi shooter is not original in any way, there are some real convincing reasons why you should not buy this game. Chief among them would be the disgusting business practices that Activision is trying with this game.
If you were hoping that the Modern Warfare remaster was sold separately, you're outta luck. It is only available with a pre-order of Infinite Warfare. Not just any pre-order, but some sort of special edition (more expensive) copy pre-order.
We have to stick it to the man! If we really want Activision to correct its ways we need to boycott this game. Won't be too hard, seeing as there infinitely (no pun intended) better alternatives for your sci-fi shooter needs.
EDIT 1: Oh look! More scummy business practices! To make matters worse, one of the editions of the game that come with the Modern Warfare remaster are Gamestop and GAME UK exclusive. If you want a digital copy or simply don't enjoy these retailers, too bad!

Unfortunately Activision is in partnership with Bungie so supporting Destiny is also helping them so if I have to support Activision I'll play Destiny Done w COD

1 ReplyThat's common sense, dude.

Luckily I has already decided to not purchase let along pre order the game. Posts like this make no sense to me, people should be able to make their own decisions.

Re: Sci-Fi originality. Honestly, the originality should come from the gameplay and narrative and less from the setting. As a former CoD fan, I’m perfectly ok with the space setting. After watching the reveal trailer, I’m fine with the setting. My problem is that is really seems (keeping in mind that it’s just a teaser trailer) that it’s just an expansion to Advanced Warfare. Speaking of originality; the ship scene reminded me of the helicopter mission from the first black ops game. Seemingly not quite on rails but at least within bumpers. The weapons look different they seem like the same as all the previous. Jump packs and exo suits? That’s fine if you want to revisit them from Halo/Battlefront (the original; not the PoS EA title even though that fits too) or AW respectively. There’s an opportunity for zero gravity gameplay and even more advancements in weapon(s) technology. This is all irrelevant to me, of course, because I’ll refuse to buy it so long as it’s the only way to purchase CoD4:MW. MW was the platform that launched the franchise to new heights. I had played all CoD’s to that point but when MW launched, CoD was then on another level. Any long time CoD fan would likely buy MW remastered in a heartbeat but as for the newer CoDs, that’s less likely. Clearly, Activision and Infinity Ward are using nostalgia and legacy as part of their marketing for IW. This will undoubtedly inflate their sales figures and Activision/Infinity Ward will announce Infinite Warfare as their highest selling CoD of all time. I would strongly encourage everyone to draw their own conclusions and speak with their wallets as they see fit.

I can't believe they're selling Infinite Warfare for $20 with every copy of CoD4 remastered.
-
I don't pre order at all so there is no danger of that happening.
-
I love how on the FAQS on their own website, they ask the question of what game modes will be in cod 4, and then proceed to avoid the question and talk about "classic campaign".
-
1 ReplyIsn't Cod 4 just the campaign with no multiplayer?
-
1 ReplyPS network is letting us preorder both games digitally.
-
If it was mw2 then sure
-
25 RepliesPeople still give a shit about CoD? Lmao that series died after Black Ops.
-
It looks terrible
-
2 Replies>preordering anything, ever

13 Replies-blam!- that I pre ordered Doom instead

6 RepliesEdited by Lord Headass: 5/3/2016 2:12:44 AMCoD infinite warfare- Your usual yearly CoD copy-paste with spaceship mode that uses Modern Warfare remaster as a bargaining chip to get you to pay Activi$ion $80 as opposed to $60. Also, this so looks like a pelican (Halo) rip-off https://imgur.com/a/ySBPg

Honestly, you're acting like a child. This isn't the 1960s movements this is about a game including another game to please fans. In the real world you don't just say "This guy isn't letting me get the buy one get one free with two different items? Riot! Boycott!" You suck it up and pay the 70$/80
-
I really want Mw remaster, but I refuse to pay for another game that I have no interest in.
-
It's a fucking game publisher, who's only goal in life is to make as much money as possible. They are pulling a genius Marketing strategy. Add a fan-favorite remastered game to the new one, exclusively for a $80-$100 bundle? They will Increase units sold (people just buying for MW, that has IW with it) and they will boast about revenue income. I can see the headlines, "CoD IW breaks records, most sold in --------- history." 6 months or so from now, MW remaster standalone. Even more money gained. Sheep who hate Activision will still buy IW just because of MW. And lastly, just because they say "Oh yeah, MW won't be standalone." That is very non-specific. They can easily claim they meant at that point in time as of the release of IW. They can say whatever they want and change their minds later. How many times have you heard, "This is the last ------- in the series." Then a new one comes out a year or two later. Business, Marketing, and no repercussions that's why.

1 ReplySo they should re master it and give it away for free? Yup. Sounds like the Destiny forums to me.

If you were hoping that the Modern Warfare remaster was sold separately, you're outta luck.
IDGAF as long as i can play MW without the disc, i'd just sell off IW in LNIB condition and get half my money back. i'm one of the few thousand legit people to have every achievement in the original MW game including the boat maze timer(specific tactics and accuracy are required to win that) and the MHC(same+ running forward afap). besides the franchise' critical flaw that enabled camping, the game is pretty good. the POV/player camera is actually mounted a bout a foot on top of the player model's helmet, instead of at face level. which is why M16A4/RDS campers dominated that game, they camped from behind a bullet-proof couch and ADS'd everyone who didn't successfully nadespam.

Cod kiddies get what you deserve
-
3 RepliesYou dont even know if you will get mw remaster sold seperatly. They said its included in this bundle, not exclusive to this bundle. You seem pretty dumb.
-
I'm hoping the remastered MW goes on sale by itself eventually. The campaign is by far my favorite of the series. The multiplayer was really fun as well, but I don't see myself investing the same amount of time into it as I did in 07-09
-
I won't get it hopefully more people will follow.
-
5 RepliesYeah right. I agree with what you're saying but the COD fanboys will buy what ever Activision pumps out at them.

If you want a digital copy or simply don't enjoy these retailers, too bad!
Wait, the digital copies don't come with the remake?
