I apologize in advance for the presumably limited poll options. I understand that I haven't represented every structure fairly.
What is your ideal government structure? It's likely true that most of us live in a democracy or representative system. However, think about which system you would prefer to live under. If your preferred structure isn't a poll option, I'd love to hear your explanation in the comments.
Now, I'm a pretty damn principled Libertarian. However, there's a movement in the Libertarian party that is somewhat anti-democracy. Let's remember that democracy is not necessarily a facet of liberty or a free market. While I don't necessarily support this movement, I completely understand the problems with democracy. The majority cannot always be a reliable moral compass, nor can the state always preserve minority rights.

There is no ideal government system: culturally, there is never any system that will satisfy every group. In countries like the United States, republican capitalism (with some socialism, let's be honest) fits the culture better, whereas in places like Vietnam, where Confucian concepts are major cultural influences, communist social systems fits the culture, and in a homogeneous society like Denmark, socialism is a good fit.

Edited by SuperStormDroid: 4/30/2016 2:46:05 AMI think the US should be more like a true democracy rather than the republic that it is today. We have the technology to turn the country into a true democracy similar to what Greek democracy was back in ancient times, but with modern ideals.

A true democracy that's not run by corporations or corrupt individuals with too much power.
