• Sights are fine for mid-close range, it's the recoil that's the issue.

  • A big problem with all scouts is that the sights become misaligned when you start firing. On this gun, after the first shot the bullet goes below the red dot. It's why on the Mida you see people saying you need to put the chevron on someone like a hat, because the sights have become misaligned and you need to aim above them now.

  • Have you heard of such a thing called weapon recoil. Weapon recoil is what happens after you fire a gun. If you just wait a little bit the sights go back to normal. You cannot fire them and expect the sights to stay like an auto-rifle.

  • No, not recoil. The sights literally are not aimed at where you are shooting. The gun bounces up but the bullets are still traveling by where you first shot the gun.

  • I know how the sights work on scout rifles. I mainly used scout rifles all Year 1 and use them mainly in Year 2. The reason is before you can shoot a second time the gun has traveled back to its resting place but sometimes it happens in too fast of a motion for you to really pick up on it. That is how semi-auto weapons work. When you fire the gun goes up then comes back down by the second shot. It is not like auto-rifles or pulse rifles to where the gun does not have time to come back down by the second shot.

  • Except it doesn't come back down by the second shot. If you keep firing it it shoots below where you're aiming

  • Did you not read my entire comment. Let me say it again. It comes down faster than you can see. So while it may seem like its shooting below the sights. It really is not, it is shooting right where you aim it.

  • The problem then is that you can't tell where you're actually aiming

  • Unless your using a full auto scout rifle your bullets go the same place or really close to the same spot your last bullet did.

  • They go close to where your last bullet landed, yes, but not close to where the scout is aiming it's sights. When I fire the Boolean Gemini at its max fire rate the bullets after the first one or two go slightly under the tip of the post that is below the red dot.

  • True, But my issue is just with clutter Large thick black border around the red dot AND The real iron sites but at the muzzle Both of those combined cover a lot of real-estate and make it hard to get a bead on some long-range stuff. Just about every other scout sight in the game is cleaner and less obtrusive

  • That is what a red dot sight is. There are different sights you can use that have less clutter. I personally do not like the red dot sight because of how much room it takes up. On my Treads Upon Stars I use the Truesight IS because it takes up little space. And you cannot remove the sights at the end of the barrel because that is not how gun sights work.

LOL, I know how gun sights work well enough in real life. Thank you. But guess what, in Destiny they made the scouts look a certain way. True Sight / Red Dot / Holo / Combat Scope / etc. Every other scout rifle scope in this game is quite clean. And I can't think of any with the nub at the end off the top of my head on a legendary or exotic scout -- except for BG. Or if they do have it, it's so small it's not even noticable.

  • They all have them. Every gun that uses those kinds of sights have the end barrel sights.

In real life, or the game. In real life, duh. In the game... I honestly don't recall seeing any scout w/ red dot sights with a large barrel nub at the end. Maybe some large-machine-guns, but I don't *recall* seeing any scouts with that.

Treads Upon Stars Boolean Gemini Fang of Ir Yut Not Like the Others Vision of Confluence Cryptic Dragon The Scouts that do not have barrel sights or is very Questionable.. Mida Multitool Touch of Malice Doom of Chelchis (both versions) These are just the scouts I have.

Not all the guns have large barrel sights. But every gun using those sights has them. Most of them are small and a few are large. But Yes in the game.

  • They should just remove the sights near the end of the barrel. That would make it clear enough IMO.

  • Literally that. If they just removed that, I would be happy enough with the whole gun.

  • But it took a lot of practice for me to get used to the sights... :'( I do agree. Put it in the log-term vault twice because I hated the sight. I am fine with it now, but I have no idea how long it took me to get that way.

  • Thats why I refuse to use it. Its not a bad exotic and the final perk is good, but those sights stink.

  • Yup. It's a decent scout rifle, but those sights are soo cluttered and obtrusive... I hate using it. I even recently tried using it again, thinking maybe I was imagining it being that bad. Nope, it is way too cluttered. Maybe that's how some real sights look... I'm not a gun expert. But compared to the clean sights in the Destiny guns... it's horrible.
