Voidwalker pvp Help

Nothing manacles - 2 scatter grenades that track The ram - allows life steal on melee plus another melee perk as well as more armor Voidfang - spawn with grenade and third axion bolt as well as more armor Obsidian mind - potentially quicker super Claws of ahamkara - 2 melee charges In my experience i feel the scatter grenades do not track as well in pvp and axion bolt is much more useful...i find nothing manacles to be so so Unless ur playing control i find getting multi kills with ur super a bit more difficult making obsidian mind not that great...maybe pairing it with bad juju and soul rip makes it more viable? I see potential with the ram/strength build giving you health on melee hit plus lets say melee surge ability Thoughts? I see potential with claws/strength build as well. 2 melee charges with the energy drain buff should mean constant grenades Thoughts? Voidfang spawning with a grenade is always nice Was hoping to get input on all you voidwalkers out there. What works for you? Im sitting at a little above 1.0 k/d and would like to get this higher so any tips or pointers are also welcome Thanks

  • These are my personal experiences with Voidwalker Exotics in PvP: Obsidian Mind- total garbo, don't use it. If you are waiting for a multi kill with you Nova Bomb i hope you have Tlaloc because the stars rarely ever align for one. The Ram- It's ok, a little bit more valuable now since warlocks are missing like 2 armor across all subclasses. I love the regeneration of every melee because you can run discipline builds and still have that option for melee. And in certain circumstances the regeneration will save you from Viking Funeral burns. Nothing Manacles- As stated by True Vanguard, "grenades are for choke points." if you utilize scatter grenades properly, than the Nothing Manacles are your best bet. Claws of Ahamkhara- These are great if you like playing close quarters. Nothing wrong with them but they don't stand out much for Voidwalkers. They are much better with Sunsingers (for double flame shield cheese) and Stormcallers (for practically guaranteed perpetual charge proc). Voidfang Vestments- These are much better in trials and elimination. In every other game mode your goal is not to die and they kind of conflict with that goal. The extra axion bolt seeker is situational as you won't find groups of three huddle together to really see the benefit of it that often. I like the Manacles personally because Intellect/Discipline builds are my favorite. Hope this helps

Voidfangs, claws, nothing manacles, and skull are now all great choices for PvP, each one with their own distinct advantages. You just have to change your skill tree perks correctly to help compliment whatever exotic you're wearing. Skull of dire Ahamkara wasn't a great choice earlier, but now with the energy drain buffs, that helmet is now far more valuable. Also, nothing manacles' scatter tracking has now been restored to its former glory. Personal advice: keep obsidian mind strictly to PvE only. The occasions where it's perk actually comes into use in PvP will be too far and too few to make it worth the exotic slot. Also, the ram was a good choice pre-update, but now that half of its exotic perk has basically been integrated into the entire subclass, it's only useful for more armour. And, if what you say about voidfangs also having more armour is true, then those would be a far better choice over the ram. Also, the ram's ugly as hell and doesn't accept shaders. Big minus in my books. Truthfully, I'd just advise you get out there and experiment freely for yourself; see what you're comfortable with. And who knows? Maybe you'll find multiple loadouts that compliment your playstile, allowing you to have some freedom of choice.
I personally run with nothing manacles because now they're great for both PvP and PvE. I like the freedom of not having to change what I wear every time I change activity.
• I never liked the Darth helm in PvP. I also don't like the scatter grenades when I last tried. They are powerful but you really have to hit the target. Go bolt or Ram. I just use the drain effect heavily so grenades and melee give you perks and you have increased armor.

        • Lear to use scatter grenades. Make shotgunners run through them to get to you and try to anticipate people around corners. With a high discipline build, nothing manicles, and embrace the void you will almost always have them charged. It's not always about the OHK. Shoot them while the grenade is going off around them.

I've been playing Voidwalker since the start of Destiny. The majority of these Voidwalkers are only jumping on the bandwagon because of the buff, energy drain was fine as it was before. However the best exotics for PvP Voidwalkers is between Nothing Manacles and Skull of Dire Ahamkara. Nothing Manacles gives you a double charge for a deadly grenade which can double kill guardians if they are close enough. However you do have to invest in Embrace the Void and The Hunger to generate your grenades really quick. I recommend an Intellect and Discipline build. This set up is a good neutral game build. Set up: • Scatter Grenade • Blink • Vortex/Shatter/Lance • The Hunger • Embrace the Void Skull of Dire Ahamkara is my Exotic of choice. It grants bonus armour whilst using Nova Bomb and it also grants The Hunger Perk. This allows you to invest in either bigger ability explosions or a tracking Nova Bomb. The tracking is pretty substantial too. The bonus armour provided by Angry Magic allows you to survive Tripmine Grenades, if you go for a max armour build. Set up: • Axion Bolt • Blink • Vortex/Shatter/Lance • Angry Magic • Embrace the Void

          • Scatter grenades RUIN people, I've got so many sick scatter made kills on my share factory, just have to find the time to edit all the footage! Trust me Nothing Manacles are the way!

          • For those who prefer a more defensive approach: The Ram Axion Bolt Shatter or Vortex Surge Vortex Mastery High armor and recovery build coupled with the Ram should give you a better chance at surviving long gunfights, and Vortex Mastery is better for scaring off would-be offenders or finishing them off with an Axion Bolt. Vortex Mastery gives the Bolt a longer chase duration, so it should be enough to give you a breather, though mind those who are desperate enough to rush you for a kill. Always keep a CQC weapon handy in smaller maps.

            • With the nothing manicles you really have to use the right build. Tier 5 discipline , tier 3 intellect and strength. Class perks: blink, shatter, soul rip. Arcane spirit, the hunger, devine order. Embrace the void I get atleast 10 or so kills every game with just grenades because all the abilities charge the grenades

                • I do okay with the ram and a max armor build. When I get my super I really like to switch over to the talloc, I can usually get more kills with that gun then I can with a super use. I stick with axion grenades and that seems to be the best with this build. I am by no means a good pvp player, but I blame this more on personal "skill" rather than build choice. Hope this helps, good luck comrade!

                  • If you run scatter nades, nothing manacles are the only real choice. If you run axion bolt (my favorite) it's either ram or voidfang. Claws don't really do much as its unlikely you'll ever store up 2 melee charges, and obsidian mind even when getting a triple kill doesn't refill much of your super in pvp. I've never found the ram that useful, but recognize it as a great option. Voidfang are great though. Grenade is always available, you can spawn up to three bolts, and those things track forever with the right perks.

                    • Check my set up. By far the best voidwalkers set up. The trick with scatter grenades is to place them at the feet of the enemy. Can't tell you how many double kills I've gotten with them with just one scatter grenade

                      • Nova bomb can't take down majors (grrrr) so I wittle adds with guns, then with obsidian mind, boom, nova bomb. Obsidian mind is quite good if you can wittle the enemy health bars down before hand. Add bad juju. Profit.

I always use ram in PvP. So many titans try to shoulder charge me but get hit with my susanoo when I have a sliver of health. Tripmines aren't as annoying either. And life steal on hit with surge is so beautiful.

                                • Nothing manacles with, scatter, the hunger, and embrace the void. The manacles tracking got buffed, every grenade kill heals you as well as activates energy drain, using the hunger increases energy drain by 2 seconds thus allowing you grenades to almost instantly recharge your grenade again. Use life steal to also give health upon charged melee hit and activate energy drain as well to again regen your grenades in about 5 seconds flat. Using this set up will insure that you always keep at least 1 grenade full at a time. I run max dis, and max int, while using the monte carlo I always have a melee charge to, and it's nice that the monte carlo is now very good in pvp. I was always a void manche user and am super happy at the new buff to make void great again.
