I didnt have much trouble with pve either. I also dont think it been dumbed down for casuals. That line of thinking is just cringeworthy. It more likely that we're well versed in the dark souls forum. This is the third game, 4th if you count bloodborne. I see several posts a day about how new players are stuck on vordt or ever ludex gundyr.

  • I found it easier than last years Bloodborne. The linear level design, an overabundance of bonfire's lessened the difficulty, magic bosses were a joke. Bloodborne felt like an evolution of the souls series. I feel DS3 took a few steps backwards, wasn't as good as Miyazaki's original masterpiece. Bloodborne had a better PvE experience with intricate level design, art style, soundtrack, awesome combat. Dark Souls 3 shines in PvP, has more variety with builds, weapon skills are an awesome addition.

Art style, soundtrack and combat are subjective. Magic bosses have always been a joke, need i remind you of pinwheel? I dont think dark souks 3 is overly linear, it opens up decently in the latter half. Then again i also think that dark souls 1 world was great until the later half both in level design and the last bosses were easy. Lost izalith was a travesty and houses the only boss miyazaki has apologized for. Nito and seath were also easy as hell. Gywn is only hard if you dont parry, something shared with pontiff.
