Easily a contender for this weeks best class, if not the best class. It all has to do with the perks and exotics. Key points:
Full strength/ intelligence build
Stoke the forge - Melee kill reset charge
Simmering flames - if you lose your charge you get it back faster
Insurmountable skull fort: give 2 Melee charges which are reset on revive
Monte Carlo: for recharging Melee if you lose your charges.
Okay so the general strategy is this, punch once, allow the burn to tick for 1 second, punch again. This will kill the enemy and reset both of your Melee charges. Alternatively you can shoot a few bullets into the enemy then Melee twice quickly. Again this will kill the enemy and reset both Melee charges. If you ever do lose your charges shimmering flame halves the time till it comes back, and you just shoot adds or the boss with Monte Carlo (don't need kills damage is enough to get Melee energy) and it will come back super fast. You should have both charges up nearly 95% of the time.
Edit: I thought that cauterise would be better then shimmering flames but because our shields don't regen this week the perk doesn't work well. You aren't making sunspots so shimmering flame really is the best choice.

shouldercharge with the greaves ftw!

Edited by Phunkr: 5/2/2016 5:53:34 AMHow do you manage to calling it "Shimmering Flames" three times after spelling it right the first time?

Bruh. Blade dancer with terantela chest and hungering blade. Nom nom nom the score
-
Monte carlo, gunslinger with knife reset on precision kills, and sealed ahamkara grasps. This was a fun week surprisingly.
-
Bladedancer super alllll day. Counts. 107k score in 2runs
-
Best technique for coe this week is quite simply couple body shots then finish off with a melee. Absolutely no need for a charged melee. Best subclasses to use are defender with blessing, sunsinger with flameshield and nightstalker to produce orbs. When exposure and trickle are the modifiers you want to be able to produce lots of orbs and provide an overshield, the shield will help greatly when going for melee kills. I hit well over 30000 points in one run without really trying for melee kills. It's easy with defender and nightstalker combo.
-
I had the best run with Monte Carlo & gunslinger. Shoot 4-5 bullets, precision kill throwing knife. You get bonus points for the melee kill, & even more points for the precision.
-
Bladedancer helps too. I ran that while my brother ran Sunbreaker.
-
Striker has an auto reset melee, plus shoulder charge which can also reset the base melee. But gunslinger is best. Double knives, reset on crit kills, plus extra points for the precision kill.
-
Here's the BEST and EASIEST strategy that ANYONE can use. Equip sword, but don't have ammo. Run around like a madman and melee every enemy, then dps the boss. Rinse and repeat. If you ever pick up heavy ammo, swing the sword until its empty and go right back to playing Destiny's version of Super Punch-Out!!!! You're welcome...

Defender titan using monte carlo, shotgun and no back up plans. Shotgun kill activates force barrier, then use perk all melee kills create orbs. Orbs for teammates to heal or charge their melees. Monte has chance to get your melee charge back even tho you don't need it to proc force barrier cos shotty will. Not susceptible to exposure much cos u can always have a force barrier. Punch punch punch punch oh and judy ;)
-
Gunslinger with 2 Throwing Knifes that auto refill on crits. With Scavenger active. And Monte Carlo. Easy. Got my 90k points in 2 runs.
-
Don't forget about Fleetfire. Gunslinger might be a little better if you can hit precision shots though since you get more points. Sunbreaker is easier to use.
-
Edited by NPC Titan: 4/28/2016 5:13:27 PMHow about Hungering Blade and Fast Twitch for Bladedancers? That and the Sealed Ahamkara Grasps. 2 melees as well as Monte Carlo? Your MELEE will always be there. Provided you have max strength...

Striker + MIDA + Peregrine Grieves
-
No the best class without a doubt is gunslinger. With the right perks u can have 2 knives and if u get a precision it gives u the knife back but that's not even the good part. Since u get a precision kill u get even more points than just a melee kill. On the final round every kill was 325 points and even though my aim was pretty garbage I manages to easily get an overall score of 50k
-
Edited by ULiano_III: 4/28/2016 4:07:33 AMNo just no... Be like me and use Striker with Peregrine Greaves! So much fun! I was 314/315 and it one shots everything but Wizards. Also, its Melee kills, Not Melee ability kills so having two melee attacks and M.Carlo makes no difference.
-
I don't have sunbreaker leveled up on this account. I went in there with some PEREGRINE GREAVES as 308, out of runs, I may have fired a total of 13 shots. I ended up with the highest score every time. Most fun I've had in a while. Could have probably met the goal in 2 runs if we would have tried.
-
Here's what I did: punch the adds till they die. Who gives a -blam!- about melee charges?
-
Throwing knife though. Get precision and melee points
-
Peregriene grieves or Gunslinger double throwing knife every week since they count as a precision kill and melee kill. Gunslinger is the best CoE class every week no matter what because a throwing knife headshot is worth as much as whatever the bonus kill is worth that week. get the perk that resets them on kill and never run out as well.
-
What a teammate and I did was I would shoot every enemy at least once and he would melee everything. When he would die, I would revive him and he'd have full health again and we'd continue. This way, every kill got additional assist points plus the melee bonus points.

No voidwalker with soul rip and the ram along with red death just go around punching everything and shooting sometimes never die and look like the terminator if he preferred his fists
-
Whater you use equip Monte Carlo for the melee refills OR Red Death for the health regen
