"Hey, Tess! Anything new at the old Eververse shop?" BraveCole said, waving his hand as he approached the flashy kiosk known as Eververse. "Ah, yes. New packages known as Sterling Treasures have just arrived in stock. Here, have a look." Tess replied, digging around in her kiosk. "Here's one, on the house. Go on, open it!" "Thanks! Don't mind if I do.." BraveCole pried the mysterious box open and suddenly an ominious flash came erupting out of the box, blinding him. "Gah!" He yelped throwing the box down. When his eyes readjusted, he noticed the light was still flashing out of the box. It kept his attention as something came out of the eerie package. [i]Crawling out.[/i] He leaned even closer, and out of nowhere he was smacked across the face by what felt like a hand. "Ouch! What the-" He looked down to identify the attacker, and was utterly shocked. It seemed to be an old arm piece, now writhing and thriving with taken power. It twitched and moved, scuttling around on the floor as if it were alive. "Taken!" BraveCole shouted, reaching behind him and pulling out a concealed sidearm. He aimed it at the pitiful arm and before he could pull the trigger, he was stopped by Tess. "Wait, no, guardian!" "Stay calm, Tess! Taken aren't bound by terrestrial laws, it isn't a surprise that this thing got into one of your packages! Good thing I'm here, say goodbye taken scum!" "No, but that IS the package! It's for you!" BraveCole paused. "What? F-For me? Why would you get me.." BraveCole looked at the arm once more. "That?" "It's armor. Armor that I managed to get by.. Ways. It's armor that is imbued with the very power of the Taken King himself." BraveCole stayed quiet, still staring at the arm. "You're um.. Supposed to put it on, guardian." BraveCole lifted his head. "Why the [b][i]hell[/i][/b] would I want to put [b][i]that[/i][/b] on?" "To.. Look cool..?" "Look cool? You want me to wear something, something that's been smothered in the dark, ethereal energy of a space lobster god? So I can look 'cool'?" "Well, yeah I me-" "Tess, the taken are the scourge of the solar system right now. Even after I killed Oryx, they're wreaking havoc on nearly every planet. They're mindless murderers, you can't just sell armor that has their very energy smeared all over it. It's a hazard, and must be dealt with. Besides, I doubt anyone would even buy thi-" "Greetings, Tess! I've come for another one of your lovely sterling treasures!" A warlock said, walking up to stand. This particular warlock's armor was teeming with taken power, wisps of darkness coming off his armor. "Uhh.." BraveCole stammered. Tess nodded. "Sure thing." She handed him a package. "Much appreciated! Oh, how I do love these wondrous gifts!" BraveCole raised a finger. "Hey, bud.. Do you.. Um.. Do you feel any different?" "Different? Whatever do you mean?" "I mean, you're wearing armor. [i][b]Taken[/b][/i] armor. Surely that has a negative effect, right..?" "Oh, that! Good question! I was skeptical myself on wearing robes that have the very essence of darkness in them, but I gave them a go! And they are quite snazzy if I do say so myse- [b][i]BOW BEFORE THE MIGHTY POWER OF THE DARKNESS!![/i][/b]" The warlock blurted out, mid sentence. BraveCole looked at Tess, who simply shrugged. "Oh, excuse me. Allergies. Usually doesn't happen too oft- [b][i]THE TRAVELER WILL FALL ALONG WITH THE LAST CITY!!"[/i][/b] The warlock blurted out, once more. He gave a few slight twitches. "You should really take that armor off." BraveCole stated, plainly. "But why?" "Can't you see it's messing with you?" "Messing with me? Oh, I feel fi- [b][i]ALL GUARDIANS SHALL BE CONSUMED IN COMPLETE AND UTTER DARKNESS!![/i][/b] "..." "..." "..." The warlock gripped his sterling treasure a bit tighter. "I'll just leave now." And with that, he walked off. Tess gave a nervous grin. "See? It isn't that bad.." BraveCole merely sighed.
