Nope. Any engrams left on the ground are lost if you get booted from the game entirely or log out without hitting orbit. I complained about this ages ago when I was kicked from the game, leaving around 3 legendary engrams in the court of oryx, and I lost them all. I'm sure in year one, if you logged out without hitting orbit then the engrams were at your postmaster. Not sure about if you were booted. I never got booted much in year one... but Destiny servers in year two have been crappy.
