You plebs let Bungie get away with it (and even applaud them for it), and now every other dev with a suit running the show will be doing the same things.
Congrats.

Exactly. The same isiots who defend microtransactions are also the idiots who defended Microsoft's push for online subscriptions instead of free online, the way it should be because "it makes the servers more secure!" which is clearly not true because it is down just as much as Sony's

Who gives a crap. They did it in gears 3 why bitch about it now.
-
I bitched about it then too. And I care. So do a shit load of other gamers. You know what player base bitches about shit like this the most? PC gamers. You know what it gets them?? Cheaper retail prices. Dedicated servers. They don't pay subscription fees for online services. You could have that too. But you're too -blam!-ing retarded to realize your own complacency is hurting your own wallet. But go ahead, drop another window licking comment and pretend as though you have some kind of moral high ground. Your complacency is bad for the consumer. It's bad for gamers. And all you'd have to do to fix it is care just a little bit. If everybody cared, you'd get the skins for free. Again, congrats.

I'm sorry, but even if me and you banded together we're still in the vocal fucking minority. You bitched about it during Gears 3? What happened? You got no results? Of course you didn't. Trust me I'm all for not having micro transactions. Base game price will most likely increase. Dlc price most likely increase. I'm not down with all that bullshit. It's cosmetic bullshit. Which you can still get in most games. The sad reality is that we will never have people realize this though and try and get their voice heard like you are. Its stupid as hell. Until gears becomes pay to win though I'm not going to give a shit.

That's exactly the mentality that allows career politicians to maintain office. "There's nothing little old me can do about it, so I don't care." All it takes is once. One single 500 million dollar investment to fall on its ass. And devs would get their shit together. All it took was E.T. to cripple Atari, and the whole gaming industry collectively pulled its head out of its own ass and started developing quality games. Feel free to continue to not give a shit. I'm not the judge of what you care about. But just remember, not giving a shit about poor business practices is like cutting off your nose to spite your own face. It's bad for you. It's bad for me. And it's bad for gaming. I'll continue to give a shit, thanks. Regardless of who tells me I shouldn't, I will. Eventually the next Atari E.T. will be released and everyone else will be happy gamers like me exist to tell these companies where to stick it.

Bungie are far from the first developers to do this. There were cosmetic micro transactions in gears 3, years before micro transactions in destiny. If you think any developers are looking to bungie for how to make a game then i imagine you're far off.
-
At no point in time did I say Bungie was the first. They absolutely are the first to be applauded for it. Developers have been burned at the stake for micros. This is why some developers come out before a game even releases and makes sure to tell gamers they won't have micros. Bungie's player base apologizing for micros is creating a culture of complacency that allows other devs to follow suit. Gamers have never defended this kind of thing. And yet here we are, people showing up in droves to defend it.

Who cares. My gun isn't gonna be any better than yours because it's a different color.
Who cares if they charge gamers extra money for things that would've been included in the game for free not even 10 years ago.
FTFY

That was then, this is now. If you don't like it, either stop gaming or stop bitching.
