Shitty micro-transactions culture. We've only ourselves to blame, will continue to get worse. What would happen if micro-transactions didn't exist? All the cosmetic items would be earned from playing the game, be realistically attainable.
Thank god we still have respected developers, publisher who don't force micro-transactions into their game, try bleed their loyal fan base.
Praise the sun...

It's only cosmetic, what's wrong with that
-
That's what Bungie said about the new gear we got. Now it's a brand new version of p2w
-
Have you bought any weapons or armor in destiny? I didn't know you could
-
You can. You can buy "Sterling Treasure" which grants you armor and such. You just want to build them up through Infusion.
-
Oh. I haven't played it in a while. But anyway gears has done this since gears 2 so I'm not worried
-
Gears just sold characters and weapon skins. Not actual weapons. You had to unlock everything else by working for it.
-
They are selling skins. Nothing in gears besides cosmetics is level locked in gears
-
I know. That's what I like. For example, the Savage Theron. I rarely see anyone with it. Its hard to get.
-
That because few people played beast let alone do all 12 waves
-
Especially on insane.
-
No, not again
-
I did it with a friend. Use berserkers to take em down quick, and tickers/grenadiers to kill them. Pretty easy actually.
-
Yeah. Me and my friend were able to do it but it wasn't the most enjoyable. Prefer horde the most
-
I love horde. I miss playing with infinite ammo, big head mode, and super reload.

They probably wouldn't spend the extra time creating new skins if players couldn't purchase them. Gaming companies have budgets and adding in purely cosmetic dlc is not considered bleeding their fans. Just don't buy them and the problem is solved. It is optional and has no impact on actual gameplay. Video games are much more expensive to make than they were fifteen years ago yet they sell for the same price. I think having useless cosmetic dlc justifies that. If it becomes pay to win then yes we would have a serious problem.
-
Video games are more expensive, but the consumer base is also much larger, which leads to huge profits that were not possible in the past. Cosmetic items are completely free in The Division, some developers do add things to prolong their game. They could add skins/guns with dlc to increase add on sales. This is what black ops 2 done not so long ago. Now they bleed their loyal fan base with shitty microtransactions, scare away potential season pass consumer's. I bought the season pass for BO3, because they said all dlc will be cosmetic, earned from playing the game. They went back on their word, start adding guns, made it more difficult to earn cosmetic item's. I'll never pay full price for a cod season pass again. It's the biggest franchises that screw their fan base the most, with shitty microtransaction culture.

You mean earning weapon skins from playing the game like it used to be? Pffft. That's so 1990's. We'd rather pay extra for things that are already in the game!
