Looks like amazing, old school arena carnage just like the good old days of Quake! Can't wait!

The multiplayer is definitely spot on for PC. There are some balance issues though, so I expect to see some buffs when the game drops. It reminds me of Unreal Tournament at a negligibly slower pace to make the game accessible to players with controllers. My only issues are three things: 1) FOV is locked on PC which is a recipe for a motion-sickness related disaster with high DPI mouses. 2) Arena-multiplayer should NOT have load outs. I'm hoping to see a separate game type that is specifically for this. 3) The super shotgun feels great, but choosing any of the other weapons would practically put you at a handicap. I hope this issue is addressed in the final release. Five positives I found in DOOM 4 1) Glory kills are bloody satisfying. Nothing beats tripping your enemy and pounding his skull into the floor. 2) The game is visually appealing, and the armor customization has a ridiculous number of options and colors, even for the beta version. 3) The soundtrack is incredible, I love the metal music playing before I go smash heads and shit in the multiplayer. 4) The game runs smooth as butter and doesn't even feel like a console port. 5) The multiplayer is a lot of fun, and I'm really excited to see competitive play considering how intense and fast the pace of the game is and the incomparable macabre moments of just destroying your opponents.

Sounds great! If the core architecture is there, the game runs smooth, dedicated servers and map building tools are well implemented, I'm sure the balance issues can be fixed and the game will be fun as hell. Bethesda said they were trying to go back to the old school feel, it sounds like they may have accomplished that and I'm hyped!
