Btw the doomsday origin story is actually superboy's origin story

So they should just give us a boy of steel movie instead of doomsday as his story is basically just being created then killing superman

Edited by MightyUltron616: 4/2/2016 1:43:26 AMThey can't just spit out new movies in an instant, plus you're forgetting about the "Dawn of Justice" in the title. Justice League setup, they aren't Marvel
Obviously a fleshed out "Doomsday" story would be far superior to interrupting the story. Including the "death" of Superman. Yeah, WW does need to start somewhere. But she should start somewhere she can really be appreciated as a character. Like I said, in her own movie. You misinterpret what I'm saying about Luthor. Recast because there needs to be a better Luthor. Remove because he shouldn't be necessary to a Superman V Batman movie. The story should be driven by the conflict between the two heroes and their ideologies, not because some external force is making it happen. Justice League setup shouldn't be shoehorned into a story just for no real reason. The dream sequence was almost meaningless to the story, while the "found footage" doesn't even do anything to set up the character of the Flash for Justice League, which is the reason it was there. Your method of response was strange, so I just replied to whatever wasn't part of my post you responded to.
All this said, the easier fix for the movie is to just change the title, because it sure wasn't a Batman V Superman movie.

Edited by MightyUltron616: 4/2/2016 2:02:09 AM
With only one film (Man of Steel), they likely did it to throw people off when they killed Superman. Otherwise a series of films would take too long and Marvel would be superior. When they put her in, it was somewhat of a Test. To see if people would be interested in seeing a Wonder Woman film. My mistake, but he was still good (in my opinion). They did say that Lex had a role to play in the fight. The dream sequence was to give fans a quick look ahead of what is to come, like what Marvel did in Age of Ultron. The footage was to set up JL but as well as introduce these characters, remember, this is practically their first time on the big screen.
It's one of the reasons why Snyder changed the title from "vs" to "V" and added the "Dawn of Justice"

With only one film (Man of Steel), they likely did it to throw people off when they killed Superman. Otherwise a series of films would take too long and Marvel would be superior.
Obviously that doesn't matter at this point, because the movie has been critically trashed. The problem is that Superman's death at the hand of Doomsday (and indeed the entire part of the story involving Doomsday) was an unnecessary addition to the movie. One of the biggest problems it had was having too many different stories happening at different times and paces. The movie would've been much better if it had focused on what it pretended to be at a few points, with the ideological conflict between bats and supes and the way humanity as a whole was taking the situation. Instead the movie becomes somewhat incoherent and the tension that was built on those conflicts is thrown away. The Doomsday fight only serves to rebuild that tension for the final climax and resolution. A well-written story wouldn't need the assistance. In this way, Marvel movies are far superior. The Avengers movies don't really have to worry about all of this setup and world-building because Marvel approached their movies from that perspective from the very beginning. This is objectively superior to rushing everything in a single film at the same time.
When they put her in, it was somewhat of a Test. To see if people would be interested in seeing a Wonder Woman film.
Which is entirely the wrong way of doing things from the perspective of world-building, which seems to be the way DC is approaching their movies now, with the Justice League and all of that happening. They should have taken the time to build her character and perhaps even give her an important part in the story. Instead, they made her almost non-existent in that she really didn't do anything at all. She was barely more than the Flash cameo for all real intents and purposes.
My mistake, but he was still good (in my opinion). They did say that Lex had a role to play in the fight.
The way he was portrayed would make a great villain; I just think he should've been his own character rather than completely changing a well-established character.
The dream sequence was to give fans a quick look ahead of what is to come, like what Marvel did in Age of Ultron. The footage was to set up JL but as well as introduce these characters, remember, this is practically their first time on the big screen.
The main issue with the dream sequences in general was poor editing. Besides that, they were too overt in their attempts to cause tension in the story. Man of Steel already touched on what could have been done: Superman's dilemma with killing Zod. The same narrative effect could have been done much better with more subtle hints, like Superman showing signs of anger and losing control. Just small hints to give the viewer a sense that perhaps Batman and the world is right about the boy scout. Instead, they use what amounts to fever nightmares in the context of the narrative to make it seem like an apocalyptic future might happen by the hands of Superman. Easter eggs are fine, but there is a point where they can jar you out of the story. Having a fake Flash time travel event happen out of nowhere without even having any information on what was happening or really even who it was. That type of thing is catering too much to comic fans just for the sake of comic fans, which detracts from quality of the movie for everybody else.
