What is with Superman and his crew and their weird fetish of giving people cancer? In Man of Steel, Zod and him demolish and knock over many skyscrapers and large buildings. Many people who helped clean up and were exposed to the building dust during 9/11 got cancer. It follows, that a large percentage of Metropolis' citizens have cancer or will. In BvS, they say kryptonite gives off radiation. Then Lois drops the spear into what looks like a water supply this irradiating the water. Radiatiated water is most certainly not something healthy to drink. Oprah of cancer. You get cancer, to get cancer, everybody gets cancer!!

  • While I can't speak for Citizens getting cancer....Kryptonite being Xeno mineral (alien mineral not found on earth) despite being Radioactive the radiation from it takes years to affect humans while it affects Kryptonians in seconds.

Lil of both it has been mentioned in a previous superman movie 1 or 2 it's been a while) comics it's been mentioned in several. Also the Justice League TV series even went into a bit. Lex Luthour attempts to use it on superman and when it doesn't work you find out its Martian manhunter whose shifted t look like Supes, Luthor goes to escape but passes out only to wake in hospital to find he has Kryptonite poisoning due to carry a lump around with him for years. Also the tidbit about it taking time to affect humans is also mentioned in smallville. So several sources.
