I worked with a guy who got a tattoo on the back of his shoulder. We were lifeguards and sat in the sun all day. He had just gotten the tattoo a few days prior, and he just left his shirt on.
I'm by no means an authority on this subject, but I think if you leave a shirt on you should he fine.

You probably shouldn't.

The guy just wore a white shirt. I doubt it matters though. If you have a UV protection shirt I'd go with that. Also maybe try to stay out of the sun if possible, but I wouldn't let it ruin your day.
