I want to see something like this: A reforge consumable per weapon type (either primary, special or heavy) - It will cost something like 5 motes of light and 5 weapon parts per reforge (<--- for example) The consumable can only be bought during armsday and only 10 reforges can be bought per week. (<--- this so it can't be spammed endlessly) Anybody that thinks this is a good idea?? It'll make armsday way more important than it is now. ----------------------------EDIT---------------------------- Maybe it should be very expensive, so you should really consider: "Am I reforging ____ or should I keep my (-Resources-)?" CONSTBLAIN (<-- his idea, and it's a good one)
I might sound crazy but what about a chance of the weapon being "broken" by the reroll process? There is let's say 5% chances that the weapon gets automatically dismantelled everytime the weapon is rerolled. This would limitate the infinite reroll problem and also give a reason to keep duplicates.
High Charity (<-- his idea, not mine again)
Keep it on the cheaper aide, but make it so you can only reforge as many times as your highest Gunsmith rank per month. Capped at 15 rolls, maybe 20.
• I'd rather have it so I can turn a weapon into a package by giving him the weapon so he can send me 3 options for armsday.

  • Reforge raid weapons using moldering shards? (If they had better perks it would be nice, but one thing at a time)

  • Re-roling based upon gunsmith level really makes sense. I think thats best

    • I have 2 ideas that might help make reforging better than HoW. Idea 1: Small changes to reforging. Price: In HoW it was too cheap and easy to reforge your weapons so with the new reforge the price will be steeper and have some side effects to it. (Will get to it in a bit.) So for a fair price I believe it should now be 1000 Glimmer 25 weapons/Armor parts ( pending on what you reforge) 5 Motes of Light 3 Legendary Marks Price Conclusion: The player can only reforge a maximum of 25 times in 1 sitting making them decide to either go gather more materials or leave the weapon as is. Drawbacks: As of now there are no drawbacks to reforging other than economic costs that can easily be regained. So I was thinking what if we add a reason to make a player to debate reforging their weapon/Armor. I came up with a few things that might help with this. 1. Once reforging has begun the weapon/Armor piece turns into a Blueprint that you must take to the gunsmith. This blueprint will hold the schematics needed to obtain your newly reforged gear which will be available every armsday. In addition to this Maximum Orders placed is increased from 3 ->> 5. This is due to Blueprints counting as an order. 2. Every time you reforge your gear it will decrease in light value. The lowest any given gear will drop is 230. The rates at which how much light you lose is completely dependant on the current light your gear is. 200-230 = 0 lost light 231-245 =1 lost light 246-280 =2 lost light 281-309 = 3 lost light 310-335 = 5 lost light Drawback Conclusion: With the ability to reforge you will have to choose to wait 1 week and lose the light level your gear had or hold out with what it currently has. Idea 2: This one will take longer to explain as it is a much bigger change to the loot system as well as how we treat weapons. This will have to wait till later hope you like idea 1.

      • The main problem with reforging is that everyone will spam it and give themselves God rolls. That will make it unfair to those who got lucky with their rolls. As a result, I think there needs to be a large risk to reforging so people don't spam it endlessly. I think that everytime you reforge a weapon, there should be a 5% chance that it could be dismantled. That way people will just be content with some rolls and not want to spam it endlessly.

        • Only make reforging for primaries but keep it the same cost it used to be. The RNG was shit for it and I went through 200 motes of light so fast. If it cost five that would be insane.

          • No. Sorry man, but reforging only makes everything stale. You think a lot of people snipe/shotgun now? If reforging was back everyone would have, short gaze, hidden hand and life support snipers and rangefinder party crashers

            • why rework it when it was fine in the first place... EVERYONE had access to god roll weaponry at CHEAP cost... what was wrong with that? apparently a lot of people.. but I thought it was just fine. if you make the cost too expensive.. it will be more of an elitist thing.. so it has to be easily accessible to everyone and affordable.

              • Grind for consumables that straight replace bubbles for what you want. Make it insanely difficult to obtain top tier bubbles. I crave proper customization. Chances upon chances with a rare chance for that chance.... It's too much

              • I loved reforging and I'm sure many others did. It gave new life to so many weapons, or gave you the opportunity to take a crappy RNG roll and roll it into something potentially great. You loved the look, feel and handling of a weapon, but wished you had firefly instead of guerilla fighter. It gave the player choices and that dreaded, hated word: variety.

                • I heard this in a video, don't remember from who but the concept they had was to have your character specialize in a certain play style or weapon type so that every time you open an engram it would contain a weapon of your specialty

i think all the vendor weapons should have random rolls each time you buy it.. Either this or, rotating random rolls every week for all vendors. who agrees?? i cant even count how many times i've traded 135 marks to the cryptarch for 3 marks in return.

                  • They already went over this on planet Destiny or some other podcast. Newbies would cry about not having enough mats and veterans would abuse it because they have an excess amount of mats. No room for balance and that's not even the best point. Everyone would have the same weapon roll and thus removing the special feeling of having a god roll or something close.

                    • nah. In order for it to work, they need a lot more perks, and, more importantly, a lot more GOOD perks. This would keep everyone from having the same rolls by having different rolls actually good. Right now, there is not enough diversity to do what you want.
