Believe it or not, I've been a Sunsinger since Destiny's release up to this point in time. I believe myself to be one of the few big players back in year 1 that helped contribute to the "Rise" of Sunsingers. Vice/Versa, I feel as if I'm also a big contributor to the current bandwagon and incoming nerf. Anyway, the point of this thread is to showcase the skills/mastery of this subclass that I've acquired throughout the 18 months that I've played Destiny. In hope that, Sunsingers can be remembered for more than just being a support class thats easy to use due to OP nades. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Edit: Sunsingers are barely getting a nerf besides to flame shield. I honestly just wish they nerfed firebolts, so all the bandwagoners can leave and only the true Sunsingers remain.

1 ReplyThe firebolt has been nerfed once, the praxic robes have been made less effective compared to year one. The entire subclass is based on its grenades and nuetral game. One hit from a lightning grenade, trip mine, scatter with nothing manacles on, arc bolt, the double nade combo are all as deadly as the the firebolt with both perks active. The only thing that needs tweeked is make the burn happen x2 faster, then it wont keep you out of the fight as long. Just my opinion.

1 ReplyReally. No one complained for a year about sunsingers. Not until year 2 trials. Bunch of cry babies that lose to them bitch and moan. Nerf this. Nerf that. Why now?

Edited by Kiwisan: 3/31/2016 9:18:15 PMOne thing I wouldn't mind having changed is Flame Shield giving increased armour. Why not move the increased armour to Radiant Skin since the purpose of it is to be able to take more damage. It'd prevent them from being able to run max armour. Just like Stormcallers can't have max armour when using Transcendence and how Voidwalkers can't have max armour without Angry Magic.

2 RepliesEdited by Xero: 3/29/2016 4:46:05 PMHere's an experiment: 1) Go to your kitchen stove 2) Turn on the stove top element closest to you. Make sure it is at the highest heat setting. 3) Wait until the element has a red/orange glow. If it's gas based, let the flames burn for about 2 minutes. 4) Touch it with either left or right hand. 5) Treat and monitor burned hand. Record how long the burning sensation lasted. This includes any re-occurance of the burn, via a hot location trigger or steam trigger. 6) Reflect that in the game Destiny, the Warlock subclass Sunsinger, does NOT have a burn time this long.
Funny Satire? No? Eh whatever. Frankly the burn should last so long as the Warlock is alive, and go away immediately if you kill said Warlock. If you are gun-ho to run around corners and hallways in Crucible, you will either get: Sniped, Shotgunned, Headshotted, Meleed, Shoulder Charged, Bubble Blinded, Fist of Havoc-ed, Hammer Slammed, Grenaded, Burned, Scorched, Electrocuted, Disintegrated, Bombed, Teathered, Hunted, Sliced, Diced, impaled with a magic arrow... OR... ...all of the above. A wise man chuckled and would say "The Crucible is no place for mercy"...
5 RepliesThe only mistake bungie ever made was making the voidfang vestments give you a grenade every life with any subclass grenade. Coming from a frequent sunsinger user regardless of any nerf I can guarantee I will continue to play sunsinger...It's a subclass with no instant kill super so obviously our other abilities are going to be powerful. If you have the audacity to kill a warlock in trials and let him self resurrect without killing him instantly you probably didn't do your pre round 1 homework and shame on you lol. I can't imagine them doing anything to the subclass that would make them any less deadly. Reduce the range of firebolt nades? Theyve already done that once sorry to break anyone's hearts that didn't know that. Reduce the burn DOT? I doubt it then I imagine they would mess with the Hunter and titan burn nade DOT. Also probably wouldn't make much of a difference. I find all of the subclasses to be pretty balanced with the exception of the Hunter blade dancer...and I don't think they need anything drastically buffed to be more of a viable option. However the backstab meele still glitch kills people which actually infuriates me sometimes.

1 ReplyEdited by EmperorBalpatine: 3/31/2016 6:37:08 PMWhere can I find details of this nerf? I need more info to decide whether or not to cry that our beloved sunsinger class will get nerfed

2 RepliesSong of flame needs to be buffed. Maybe increased recovery, agility, or armor for nearby allies while song of flame is active. Will cause people to select increased duration over biking funeral in team efforts. Pve and pvp.

9 RepliesThat was some of the best examples as to how and why sunsingers are op. None of that took actual skill. You used an op nade with Viking funeral and conspiracy theory d. If this is a love letter to sunsinger, all it did is show exactly how broken they are. I really hope this Nerf to warlocks is on the way. Trials will finally be a place of skill rather than watching some scrub chuck grenades and charge in with the most op close range shot gun. This is all coming from an Alpha original warlock. I switched to voidwalker back in year one and stormcaller in year two to prevent me from abusing sunsinger, but I guess other people are just dicks and want to see the world burn. To those people: You deserve the nerfs if they are actually coming.

Fun to watch but you ignored alot of revive opportunities. When you self rez ontop of a teammate with a quick rez armor piece equipped always hold revive, you can get the revive off before you even finish your self rez animation. Other then that, you wrecked them.

26 RepliesEdited by WulfPak666: 3/26/2016 10:41:17 PMThe Sunsinger doesn't need to be take a nerf. You can fix just about every problem if Bungie just changes the way Viking Funeral works. Take off the "burn longer and take more damage" and replace it with a perk similar to the Sunbreakers "Melting Point" Think about it, if they do this, the only perk that will "burn" you will be Touch of flame and that burn only lasts about 3-5 seconds, waay shorter than the "omfg I am still burning!?" 14 seconds. New Viking Funeral - All enemies who have been set ablaze take more damage from you and your allies as long as they are on fire. Warlocks would be a hell of a lot more useful in the raid rather than just a "oh shit" reset button if they die. ex. Say your fighting the war priest... Touch of flame will make all grenades set him on fire for 3-5 seconds... right? While he is burning for that 5 seconds, he'll be taking more damage. Now, if that warlock activated radiance and has a, HoPF, he can toss out roughly 6-10 grenades if your discipline is maxed. Since each grenade with ToF sets him on fire for say 5 seconds... 10*5 = 50 seconds of addition damage that both you and your whole team can dish out. Stack that with WoL and a Tether and hot damn, shit be melting fast as hell. This would give Warlocks incentive to actual use their super to kill bosses ASAP rather than just hold it for a "oh shit" reset button. This will also make them more Raid friendly when it comes to DPS, because aside from Ad clearing, we pretty much have nothing to help with. in PvP this would also help with the seemingly endless burn that everyone complains about. If you do happen to get hit, Touch of Flame will burn you for 5 seconds, and while you are burning for the 5 seconds, you'll take a little bit of extra damage. However, once that 5 seconds is over, you wont take any extra damage. essential that is already what VF + ToF already does, but you always end up with hardly any health to fight back, if any at all. With this new Viking Funeral, you will still have a good portion of health to fight back the aggressive burner and keep on fighting should you kill them. Pretty much every grenade in the game gets you down to 1 hit or straight up kills you anyway, so this would work if Bungie changed Viking Funeral to this new system. Just a little something a bunch of my raid buddies and stuff came up with over the passed few days. Like it? Hate it? Let me know.

Hey man nice clips! I really enjoyed what I saw you have op skill I'd appreciate it if you saw mine I spent like 3 months on it thanks! https://www.bungie.net/en/Community/Detail?itemId=198271026

1 ReplyCalling it now, sunsingers remain unchanged while nightstalkers get shafted.
-
1 ReplyDamn, you're good nice video :)
-
1 ReplyNice work. I like this 100x better than all the sniping montages, because this is a much more fun, aggressive way to play. Though I can probably count all my 1v3 clutches with a Sunsinger on both hands, it's fun and exhilarating, and you make quick, aggressive tough plays look very easy... But in reality most self-res attempts lead to "And stay down" medals for somebody. Much respect, no Nerf calling coming from me.

11 RepliesIt's funny how almost every single person that cries about sunsingers, are pure garbage at the game lol no amount of crying will make you better.
-
1 ReplyWe will give them new reasons to cry... Don't worry... I think all the subclasses are going under the knife though...it will be interesting...

You know damn well they're just gonna nerf or remove burn damage from sunsingers and thats it lol. Wont be this big of a deal
