I agree with the last poster; the Light is life and prosperity, and its rival, the Darkness, is nothing but death. Look at Oryx, he could communicate and use the power of the Darkness, but to do so he slaughtered and committed genocide to hundreds of species. The Darkness is cruel and unforgiving.
