You can't be serious?? You don't think the community manager of a video should be required to play??? That's pretty absurd.... If you want to be successful at your job you have to know the product (in this case Destiny and it's community).
Do I think what he did was that bad? No way.,.. But he is still terrible at communicating and measuring the pulse of the community. He just adds to the bad press for Bungie.

Yes i am serious. No, I don't think he should be required to play. Whether he wants to know where the game is failing or needs work on, it's in his own best interest to play. But, there is a difference between the two. As for this community, it is toxic and volatile, with hardly any decent constructive feedback. Unfortunately, when there is, bungie never reply, or you read comments like 'git gud' or 'your stats suck so you blatantly know nothing' it's a nasty loop which can make this a horrible place to be.

I guess I believe knowing the game is part of the job. Yes, this community is toxic and I in know way envy his difficult, if not impossible job. Could somebody else do it better? Couldn't do worse

I won't disagree with you on that =) I think someone else may do a better job, especially with communication and honesty. People, I believe would be happier if he just turned around and said he had no new information, rather than trying to build hype for something no one knows anything about.

Umm he didn't say that Deej should be required to play...
