Probably going to get some hate for this, but here goes.
I thought the Desk post was quite funny. The OP in that thread seemed like an absolute moron. Any referencing it in the weekly update didn't bother me. But maybe I'm just thick-skinned.
The are some horrible comments made on these forums, no one should be calling out for Bungie employees to be fired, or worse. And rightly or wrongly, much of it is directed at Deej. Totally understand him giving some back, though whether or not it was sensible can be questioned. Non of us are in the senior management at Bungie/Activision, so we have no idea what exactly goes on behind the scenes.
BUT, the toxicity of this community goes both ways. And I've seen people on these forums who call anyone out who tries to offer any criticism of Bungie. And contrary to popular belief, not everyone is going to come running back for new content.
Because like it or not, there are some very valid reasons for people to criticise. But it should be done in a reasoned, constructive and calm manner. Not like that idiotic post.
I've been attempting to post my own 'constructive criticism' on these forums, but frankly it's getting tiring when all the replies either condemn Bungie employees to the Seventh circle of Hell, or just insult you for disagreeing even attempting to criticise Destiny.
So, both sides need to calm down, and actually communicate. Personally, I very rarely play Destiny anymore, just because I don't find the Year Two Loot mechanics fun, and I don't like the fact it feels like we went backwards in terms of meaningful content.
Similarly as has been said people need to understand, as has been said that Destiny is just a game. But again, this goes for both sides.
