Reforging should not come back in its same form. It ruined crucible with everyone running around with the same weapon.
Instead they just need to increase drop rates as they should have done with TTK but did not they actually reduced it.
HOW had fantastic drop rates but got lumped in with reforging when they changed the game for taken king. Had they left drop rates as they were you would have significantly better chance of getting a good roll now.
If the spring update puts drop rates back (oh and put crucible drops in with Iron Banner loot) I think people would be more satisfied with the loot than they are now.

The only thing people went for set perks in were hand cannons and the main argument, shotguns. But that was due to broken perks in one already string weapon class with that fixed as it is it likely wouldn't be as big an issue
-
If everyone have the same weapon with same perks it's a skill game then instead of a get lucky with a weapon with good perks game.. So I totally disagree with you reforge must come back indeed :-)

This is a tough topic. The Re-forge was a lot of fun but people were creating shot guns with shot package, final round, and extended range that lead to there nerf. The chance hand canon could be rolled into a 4 shot with final round and same for snipers - this lead to more nerfs and perk removal all for the sake of balance. The grind was somewhat removed unless you needed materials to re-forge. But on the flip side using weapons that are re-forged was a hell of a lot of fun in PvE and PvP. Its my opinion but I don't think it should come back just better light or loot drops of some sort would work for me.

I used weapons I would never have touched when using reforge. I loved it. I used all of the guns from the Poe raid. I re rolled a wicked arc rocket launcher for arc burn week on skolas. Had a great time farming for the hopscotch and spent hours farming materials to get third eye and outlaw. I love how everyone equates re forge to the shotgun meta in house of wolves....... Kind of sad really cause re forge was so much fun
-
Let's not forget hopscotch. I was a reforgeaholic ran with hopscotch with high stability and outlaw and a shotpackage final round party crasher and queens rocket launcher with tripod and grenades and horseshoes. Reforging lead to Nerf on hopscotch and nerf to grenades and horseshoes and removal of shotpackage.

Edited by ill skillz: 3/8/2016 2:57:17 AMPeople will ways gravitate to what works. No one can blame anyone for that. Bungie were so dumb to nerf the pilgrim and then leave the messenger alone. That made no sense at all. The decision making was crazy for this game and they literally nerfed the whole damage model for the pilgrim. The messenger was op also and had a smidgen less stability. Now it's unfair that one player has access to that stability and another player can't even get the gun. The atrocious drop rate is killing the game and no reforge means some people get God rolls while others are fuming.

No, everyone having the same gun is not what "ruined" crucible but you're a big baby. The only problem is that there are rolls that are significantly better than any others. If there was room for argument over what gun archetypes and roll sets were best then we wouldn't all be trying to get the same gun(s). Making it possible for players to have guns that are inarguably better than others through luck is not fun or fair in crucible. Moreso than any imagined problems with the HoW era.

This guy knows what's up. A HUGE BUMP

Agree that the problem is with having those significantly better rolls available in the game. But until that is solved you can't have reforging otherwise everyone tries to roll the same weapon and creates a new meta. Watch what will happen when one of the gunsmith rolls for zarinaea-d ends up with something to make it a mini doctrine. You will notice a significant increase of that weapon in crucible.
-
Why is that a problem?

It would put forum into more of a frenzy to nerf yet another weapon type.
