So here are some of my tips for leveling up and getting there faster 1. Don't turn in a bounty without switching your gear/subclass to one's you need/want to level up.... because well... you need or want to I mean it's the only way short of... 2. MOTES!... If you want to level up a gun or piece of armor/class item/artifact/ghost right now this is the way to go.... they don't work on subclasses fyi.... but don't waste em on one thing..... if you got more that you need leveled or plan on keeping somthing and haven't gotten to leveling it ...well do it then... now you have your Shiney new item plus that one you never played with yet cause you couldn't unlock perks yet. 3. Don't turn In engrams without maxing your light level... (bungie's gear manager has a one click button for this) regardless of the rarity of items your light needs to be at its highest... seems like the game wants you to get better gear but not too quick so it drops based off your level and won't go too much higher until you reach a new bracket.... kinda like taxes.... Also I noticed that my main character I played the entire game on gets better engram drops (hasn't seen a green one since the first month of 2.0) than the two characters that haven't done any of the old/most of the new quest lines (these two get greens at 190 somthing on hard oryx... i infused them up and utilized iron banner and other events to get them 310+) 4. Need Glimmer?  Motes? Weapon parts? Potential armor materials?.... run the old raids on normal.... it doesn't really need 6 anymore and you won't need to beat the whole thing anyway to get a few shards and energys to use with the speaker or engrams to dismantle for armor parts 5. Motes will get you the most out of faction donations... so if you want some good gear out of em or get to 25 to find that exotic this is a quick way to do it 6. Speaking of exotics buy three of coins from xur.... use them during crucible/strikes/some stories/parts of the raid... you want to almost always have it say you have the exotic particles buff on...  each time you use one and it doesn't grant you an exotic your chances increase on the next use of a coin.... but chances decrease greatly during a ~20-25 minute cooldown So use one at a time until you receive an exotic and then stop for 20 to 25 minutes and get back on em.... yes you can receive exotics when you Lose in crucible. It's happened to me enough to know.... but now you need.... 7. legendary marks? Daily crucible match... it's 15 marks for 15 minutes max of participation... you don't have to win just be there til the end.. does it hurt to try one match a day when it's half the game you paid for? But for perspective 15 marks is enough for 5 infusions a day. In 10 days you will have 150 marks to buy an exotic out the kiosk or a weapon from a faction.. or you could infuse 50 things.... 8. oh you need spinmetal? 150 marks could buy 300 of em... or maybe 60-80 of each material 9. wormspore? Kingsfall ghost with the perk to pick it up with engrams + raid/dreadnought patrol = way too much wormspore/high level with eris 10. Hadium flakes... well hunters have a great perk to run around and quickly find chests so.... get your hunter or find a hunter to run you around the drednaught and find them together. Or learn the chest spawns In The first area and just go there a few times a day run your circle and leave... I've done em in a row (keep leaving and coming back) and here there while I wait for a fireteam. And my final bonus tip to get the high level gear to infuse the items you really want.... PLAY ALL OF BUNGIE'S EVENTS!!!! lately we've had a chance at 320 gear in different forms that is not so likely but i did get 4 319 helmets a couple 318s and alot of helmets and class items between 307 and 315 ...more  were above 310 once my rank in SRL was higher .... iron banner yields well.... Crimson Doubles leveled my first few legendary ghosts to a usable light. And more events are coming ... so play them that week almost exclusively (only stop for raid challenges or a burnout pending) and be sure to gear up your infusion foder the week before...
