But with these sweet, sweet postgame rewards I'm just aching to play more. Who loves 270 level blue gear? THIS GUY! /sarcasm
-
Why wait for Iron Banana? You can go into trials every weekend and get loads of ~263 level blindsight gauntlets and boots! They're the shit! /sarcasm

Bingo! ;) give that man a cookie

u r right. rift was better.

Rift was awful. Control is best and clash is just a kill fest. Rift was impossible to play solo, no team work means you lose... and all anyone ever did was point a sniper rifle at the ball... oooooOOOOooooo... so much fun.
-
I like Control and enjoy it as IB. Isn't a "kill fest" pretty much the point of Clash??? I watched a few vids to get a basic understanding of Rift before the last IB (had never stepped into a Rift match prior).. I roll solo and didn't really find it difficult to manage. Were there some blowouts due to lack of communication? Of course! It's going to happen. I also had VERY few issues with people using snipers. On the rare occasion I would come across one, I would either stay out of their path or figure out how to counter them. I absolutely LOVE using a sniper for PvE (my all-time favorite weapon :) ), but for PvP... I've equipped one maybe 3 times and have had 2 kills with it. I just prefer a fusion in Crucible. Not only did Rift take my Warlock Positive... I also kept a pretty decent score from carries. As Darkaxe72 stated... Not for everybody, but I had fun and learned quite a bit from it.

I played Rift Solo & was best around on all three of my characters multiple times. I easily made it to rank 5 on all three. I think it too 3 days of evening play from 6-9 pm & half a Saturday. I understand Rift is not everyones cup of tea, but for people like me rift was excellent.

I won plenty of matches playing solo and plenty playing with my rookie friend who just started playing online video games. Of course one can't win them all. IMO snipers are easier to marginalize in rift than in other 6v6 gametypes. I also like control but Team Death match is 1 dimensional and becomes boring after a few games. That being said the same teams that made you cry in RIFT are going to make you cry in any gametype. Maybe if you cried less you would have more success.

I recognized a name while in orbit, during matchmaking last night. Couldn't place where. About a third of the way into the match, I realized that I recognized another name. Those two were together and were quite a force to be reckoned with. They absolutely steamrolled me in a couple matches in Rift (not that that would be very hard :) ). I went into 2 more matches with them and they stayed #1 and #2 in kills on all of them. The first match, they were opposition. 2nd and 3rd matches they were put on my team. I harbor no resentment for them having fun in a game. I just know to steer clear of them if they are on the opposing team. ;)

You call clash 1 dimensional... but rift is....? Grab a ball get it in the basket... oh wait you can't do that when no one on your team knows how to communicate when everyone is solo. Rift also had a ton of people leaving. One 1 or 2 points for the other team and people kept quitting! Here in clash at least if someone sucks you can at least cover for then better... in rift if your team sucks then your SoL
-
How so? Rift was unplayable solo, imo. Might just have been lucky with matchmaking but Clash has been great. Less sweaty than usual, too.
-
it seems that I read more and more posts expressing dissatisfaction with sweaty games. Since when did playing in a closely matched nail biter become such a burden. Aren't games supposed to be about competition? I would think that one would get more satisfaction from winning a match played against a worthy foe as opposed to pub stomping a group of unskilled rookies..... or am i not understanding the term "sweaty"?

Preach!
-
Rift never ever had a closely matched nail biter... either one team dominated or it was a game of clash with a focal point for snipers to aim at. So I don't get your gripe against clash when that's what rift basically was some games. Solo sucked so hard... but in a team (even if your teammate was new to the game) gives an advantage and the game becomes that much better. Loved rift while in a group, wanted shit to be done and over with ASAP when I played solo

Perhaps my experience was differen't. While there is always a small probability for a comeback from a large deficit in any gametype, I found that while playing RIFT I saw many more comebacks (from large deficits) than in the other gametype. With the focus of the battle being on one point in the first phase ( grabbing the spark ) it was much easier to identify the probable sniper locations and attempt to eliminate them or utilize them. Once the spark is aquired ideal sniping locations would then be reduced and the importance of a hard scoping camping snipers was drasticaly marginalized. Another good thing about RIFT (to me) was that spawn camping or crashing by either team would be penalized as the team being camped would spawn by the SPARK spawn enabling them to take control of the area around the SPARK. ( In CLASH the spawns are way more random and in control a little more random. ) I found it easier to group up with teammates after death due to this spawn pattern. I also found that this worked against me if I ventured too deep into the enemies spawn after a SPARK run by my team. In short I felt that good tactical descisions were rewarded more in RIFT than in other gametypes. TO finish I will say that in RIFT, if it was a blowout, (and I have been on both sides of that coin, ) that the games were done quickly and one could get their points/loser token and move on. In your defense, I realize that I am in the minority, as the general population wants to either run around aimlessly or camp their favorite lane while playing most any FPS PVP. I just find this playstyle to be one dimensional and a bit boring while RIFT has several phases of strategy requiring one to camp at times and rush at times.

Lol its always the scrubs who make this argument. Good players win in any game type. Stop making excuses for your failures #gitgud

You are hilarious. Unless your stats are better than mine (which they aren't. Your the same or worse than that) then stfu. You have no place to tell someone to gitgud you dumb ass.

Nothing wrong with that, but all the time? Nice to play to relax, too.

nothing more relaxing than watching noobies run head first to their demise....one by one....no attention to radar.....wrong weapon for the situation....like lambs to the slaughter
