As a casual player of pvp I have found that the sbmm works it makes the game more fun rather than facing an entire team of elites with 4-5 KD ratio, yes high level players are moaning that they can't keep there KD ratio errr I could not care less ! You want a high KD ratio earn it against people of the same skill level as you. and as for needing the KD ratio for prestige how about introducing league tables ? People say these games are becoming sports right ? I don't think you would have a wet behind the ears lightweight up against a heavy weight world champion ? But that's what you guys want !. And should cruciable go that way again I for one will again hang up my pvp kit and ignore that part of the game entirely. As for saying we're selfish for wanting competitive matches well sorry for wanting to enjoy the game I paid for and pay monthly ps plus to play !. I know several truly great players out there who point blank refuse to go to cruciable because of year one issue with getting seriously stomped by an elite player. As for likening the game to COD a specifically unbalanced high price 1st person pvp shooter where you can pay to improve your skills and upgrade speed and with a generally poor campaign thrown in ? What the hell ? Are you guys lost ? Are you looking for battlefield or battlefront. Give us new and casual players a chance and Mabey one day you will be facing us as a elite player but keep pushing bungie to allow you to stomp us we will vote with our feet and you won't have paper targets any more. And then you will still lose your treasured KD ratio and the game you claim to love.

Hello, I get that you are a casual player, but you need to understand that, with sbmm as it is (was ?), you have exactly the same rewards and stats as players who are way better than you. It is unfair without a way to differentiate you from them (what you call prestige). If you start playing PvP more frequentmy, you too will not enjoy feeling like you improved, but not being able to qualify or quantify it. In the long run you'll get bored and not enjoy the game anymore. No sbmm system, nonetheless not noob-friendly, works because k/d is actually a prestige, a reward that shows how good you are in average. It is fair. That's how older games were played. Before being really good, you were stomped , but with discipline and willingness to learn you improved because you were facing a wide variery of players you could learn from. The only problem is to start and not be discouraged. However, I agree with you that, with a ranked system that shows your skill related to other players (bronze, silver, gold, plat, diamond, etc.), sbmm could work. But not communist sbmm with hidden ratings.

I don't really give a shit about the rewards. They've been sh***y from day one. I do care that I get matched two matches in a row to the exact same team of lagging mothereffers in Trials that aren't booted and aren't punished. Even if they are punished later, they don't give me the rewards I would have earned if it weren't for motherffers that shouldn't have been playing to begin with.

  • I never realised that the ratings were hidden, another thought because of the new match making I was able able to go in to crucible so am finally able to go the exotic weapon quests. I know this new system is not perfect but for casuals it means we can go in get kills over a reasonable time frame as PVE quests seem to want PvP kills ?. Would like we both mentioned leagues be a reasonable compromise Newbie Casual Semi pro Pro Elite Also possibly leader boards and a reward system that rewards highest scores in match Daily leader board rewards Monthly leader board rewards An an epic yearly reward for the top 100 players Most improved players ect I see what you mean about boring though I played a match where I was the best player there was no challenge ! I want to be a good crucible player I don't mind the learning curve I don't mind learning new skills, my only objection is when match making uses me as target practice for elites. What ever bungie do I hope it's fair for all players. And frankly what ever there doing is just not working For multi reasons currently. Thank you for taking the time to respond and being reasonable.

I'm glad we are having this constructive discussion my friend. Btw I'm also a casual PvP player who tries to improve :-). I guess, without a ranking list, like in oldschool games, newbie learning curve depends on the average level of players. I think Destiny average level is not so high because player base is kinda huge (we are millions). Like you said sometimes you stomp your opponents and it's not fun, but next game you might be strongly defeated or do barrely okay, so "in average", it is still generally fun to have very different games and not only very close ones :-) ! In this system even best players meet their realtives, but less frequently. Also there should be customs in order to organise tourneys so good players could face other good players if they want some competition. But since we are trying to find the most blueberry-friendly solution, I thought about a few ideas : 1. Like we talked before, a ranked playlist where you would face opponents of your level and a social playlist where you could play with your friends, try new weapons and face a wide variety of players. 2. A sort if sandbox for casual and new players where you would play people of your skill until you reach "a point" (number of games played, average rating). So when you join th rest of the players you do still fairly ok. With custom matches for tourneys ofcourse ! It's thanks to discussions like this one that the game will improve, have a great day !
