Why People Hate Each Other

I finally realized what causes all hate and strife in this world: Generalization Yea I know sounds boring. But hear me out, I have realized that Grouping and Generalization is what leads to so much pain. Let me explain. It is a very childish thing to do, group people together and assume they are all almost the same. Children are born with a natural inclination to group people together to make them feel safe and like they have more control of the world. It is generally harmless; thieves are bad, trust your authority figures, that sort of thing. Problem is, we do the same thing as adults. The best example of this is Horoscopes. How in God's name could the month we were born in possibly relate to our personality? Simply, it doesn't. Yet somehow I have heard the phrase, "oh its just because you're a [insert imaginary group here]" more than I'd care to admit. Is it not childish to simply connect one thing with a completely unrelated trait? Just because I'm a Capricorn doesn't make me irrational. (Honestly i have no clue if that is what horoscopes say or not). Now of course assigning a personality to an unrelated trait can cause a lot more problems. For example assuming all black people are criminals or all cops are evil. How could skin color relate to crime when there is no genetic connection? How can profession relate to being evil? It is moronic to believe so. Is it not agreeable that people who make these ill informed assumptions are less likable? Anybody who says, "God I hate Liberals/ Conservatives" sure as hell ain't on the top of my friend list. I bet most people wouldn't want to hang around someone who is constantly saying, "all men are sexist pigs" or "all women are idiots". Of course sometimes its practical. You'll be hard pressed to find an unintelligent nuclear physicist or a not brave firefighter. But other times it is ridiculous and only leads to pain and suffering. In the end, a horoscope never killed anyone (ignoring the Zodiac Killer), but people should realize everybody is an independent individual and you should never instantly assume someone's personality just because of their ethnicity, race, occupation, religion, political belief, etc. If everybody did something as simple as that there would be so much less conflict in this world.
