They saw the mystery couple both at the front, waiting for their reservation. Nice game yesterday, huh?” Danny put a hand through his curly hair, and hugged his date. “Wh-- wh-- wha-” Sasha was speechless. “What’s wrong?” His date asked her. “Th- th- the last time I saw you, you were crap at everything!” “Sasha, that was a year ago.” He signed where he was told to and they were brought to their tables. “I know, but--” Sasha trailed off. “Look.” Danny grabbed her shoulders. His big hands almost engulfed them. “I’ve been training with Kara, here.” “Hello!” She waved. “You’re, uh… you’re bigger than the last time I saw you!” “I’ve been working out.” Danny pulled a chair out for Kara. “Anyway, we just wanted to get to know you guys better.” He chuckled. “The last time I tried to find you, I ended up being covered in blood.” “What.” Harrol asked. |======================| After a few minutes, their food had arrived. Sasha was more or less out of shock. “So yeah, we were fighting on Mars when I activated my portabubble- I’m working on a name for it- and a colossus just straight up punts me! Kara found me a few miles away.” The group shared a laugh. “Ehe… so, I just have one question.” Sasha set a strip of bacon back on her plate. “What the heck was all that singing yesterday? And why were you exactly the same?” “Oh, that was just in the spirit. We’ve made ourselves 'normal' again. Well, we still have a insurmountable, but I use a helmet I found a while ago.” Danny lifted something out of Kara’s purse. “Saint-14’s helm!” “You just carry that around?” Harrol asked. “No, I just wanted to show you guys.” He placed it back in. “Ah.” Sasha took a bite of her bacon. “That’s impressive!” Harrol said. “He was quite the legend!” “Yeah. I saw him headbutt that kell. Quite the fight.” Sasha began to hunch. “Hm. I saw the recordings, you know.” Danny placed a piece of steak in his mouth. “I was amazed, Sasha. I really wanted to be like you.” Danny blushed. “I guess I’m a quarter there.” “You’ve got a long way to go, kiddo.” Sasha stretched. “You’re barely a year old.” She chuckled. “And I’m 500.” “Oh.” Danny looked down. “I- uh, I’m sorry.” “It’s okay, you did nothing wrong.” Sasha looked around. “Now where is the waiter, I want to pay and go.” “Over there.” Harrol pointed to her. “Okay.” Sasha pulled her share of glimmer from her purse, and they got up to leave. “I’ll see you around, Dan.” “See you, Sasha.” |======================| Back in their shared apartment, Harrol had set up a mattress in the corner for Jaik. He was sleeping softly.
