I agree with everything you have said here, I'll bump this till the end of time. On another note in regards to the previous raids and content. Just because the gear doesn't work in the Kings fall raid doesn't mean the raids are not replayable. I personally see the taken King as fresh start to destiny and I think it's important to remember that destiny is literally a one of a kind game. While the previous rewards have no relevance to the Kings fall all of the old content still works. What's stopping us from running prison of elders and then using that gear for croto or VoG. What I'm trying to say is that while we may think the old content is irrelevant, that is not true you can still run the old raids then switch gear to run the Kings fall. It's important to note that I believe this is what the developers had in mind in the first place, which is why they haven't updated the older content. Whether or not they are going to do that with the new dlc is a question for another day but until then for all the players complaining about a lack of content in reality it is us that have chosen to push the old content to the curb just as much as Bungie.

What's stopping us from playing old content is that there us zero reward incentive to play it. Just as well, it is no longer challenging, therefore not fun. The templar dies in one hit, and atheon practically keels over once you enter the room. You know damn -blam!-ing well that y1 content means nothing, and the content that did come forward (iron banner, trials) was passed off by bungie as new. And no, they didn't want us to switch to the old gear to run the old raids. They nerfed every year 1 weapon just before they made it irrelevant. Wearing y1 gear puts you at a disadvantage because you have next to no intellect, strength, discipline.

  • There's no relevance to old content. It doesn't help the endgame and since people are upset over the waste of time year two did to year one, we have every reason to be upset. It would be viable if it had a point to helping progression, but it doesn't. There's no way to use any gear from year one story so why would anyone do it anymore??

  • Bump. Completely agree. I've been said make the weapon balancing between PvP and PvE be two separate things and to lift all nerfs that negatively impacted a weapon type or archetype, and any buffs that were applied to any weapons keep them. Make the Guardians feel strong again with their weapons, make the old activities viable again, bring back elemental primaries, and your players will return. More people should see the OP's post and bump!!

  • I agree with you but the only thing I will say is that the community needs to let go of the elemental primaries. I love destiny but I have to say, the elemental aspect of the weapons is garbage so loosing it is not as big an issue that the community makes it out to be.

  • Getting rid of elemental primaries, which were never a problem, is a lazy solution to a shitty element system.

  • I think 'the community' would disagree if that many people want it back. Myself included.

Players want to progress. It's nice to play the VoG every 2 months when the NTTE quest comes up and every 3 months for nostalgia, however it's pretty much impossible to find a party to beat the raid. Heck, it takes ages nowadays to find a party for King's Fall. So even if in theory I could go there whenever I want, in practice I can't. And even if I do, I cannot progress any further.

  • I more or less agree with you, but in reality I don't think we can blame Bungie for the community not playing previous content.

  • Yes we absolutely can. They're the ones that took it out of our hands and buried it in the sand, aren't they?

  • The issue here is progression. If Bungie would allow players to earn meaningful rewards in older endgame content, players would go there. It's imho not my responsibility to be motivated to play a useless activity with no progression (doesn't mean that it isn't fun). It's Bungie's responsibility to get me motivated. (The NTTE quest is a perfect example. It's literally the only reason some players even contemplate to enter the VoG again).

  • It is people like you that causes Bungie to distant themselves from the community. Please tell me how your post provides any sort of constructive criticism to the game.
