I see some decent stuff, but slow down for a second there. One, you are making it [u]waaay[/u] too -blam!-ing complicated with shards, more shards, and [i]another kind of shards[/i] plus etheric light, mucking around with heavy synths (issue with faction rep), etc. The simplified TTK economy is so much better than Y1's nonsense that it shouldn't even be up for discussion. Second, you're proposing a giveaway of gear that makes even etheric light embarrassed. NF is a 290 light activity, why would every run [u]guarantee[/u] a 310? [u]+5[/u] light boost from moldering shards? Anyone who raids with any regularity probably has dozens, if not hundreds of those stupid things and you can easily get tons more ascendant materials from old raids. There's more issues, not the least of which is problems with Y1 weapons like black hammer coming forward and the huge amount of dev time all this stuff would most likely divert from new content but these are the two most obvious.

Regarding the issue of shards: yes, people who raid a lot will have tons, which is why the exchange ratio is very low. Regardless, these are just ideas, and bungie won't even see this thread anyway.

    What's being forced? Other than balance problems and prioritizing dev time, what would be the reasoning behind permanently walling off old content? Let's assume for a second there won't be any new content for 6 months or whatever. If they knew that to be the case, what else could they possibly have to gain by consciously forcing us to play the same TTK stuff over and over again until we all got bored and left? Forum trolls can blather whatever they want about perceived or real incompetence but the people at Bungie are not literally mentally retarded. Put another way, what makes more sense to you? Bungo the troll company who actively hates their players and made this game as some kind of sadistic social experiment, or Bungie, the company who communicates poorly, made some bad decisions, and is now paying for them in the form of inefficient development tools and broken weapon balance which have combined to cripple their efforts to make new content?
