Landfall Balance

Hey everyone this is DirtMerchant LC and I am a bubble wielder in the crucible. In My experience, the bubble seems to be the universal counter to most supers if used properly. However, there are a few abilities in the game that seem to give my enemy an unfair advantage. My main concern is the Storm Caller's Landfall ability. There is no super in the entire game that can kill a defender without using at least 50% of the users energy on the bubble first. Storm Trance is the only exception to this rule. Landfall bursts the defender's bubble upon activation and gives no penalty to the Warlock's super duration. This mechanic appears to be an unfair advantage for Storm Callers. If this ability only blinded targets (and maybe did 50-75 damage) it would still be desirable, and fair to other guardians. My other concern was the implication of the striker's "Peregrine Grieves" into year two. The reason why this exotic armor should be re evaluated is because of its ability to effortlessly one shot a defender with ARMOR of light. The bubble is a stationary super and does have its tactical advantages if placed at the right time or place. A striker with peregrine grieves however can shoulder charge a defender 100% of the time in his bubble. Also keep in mind with the latest shotgun range nerf in taken king, it is nearly impossible for the Defender to kill the charging titan before he gets to him. In my opinion, it should take a super to kill another person with a super (with the exception of surprising / ganging up on the super charged enemy). This exotic boot appears to be a "go to" crutch for strikers to kill enemy defenders. I feel this would be more balanced if the exotic only took away the armor of light shield upon hit, and required the striker to be in the air for 5 seconds before giving the extra shoulder charge damage. This way both sides can be happy: The shoulder charge can still get a large damage buff, and Defenders (along with other types of supers) can have a better chance to react to the striker in the air before getting one shot with a shoulder charge (that has no cool down time). Your opinion (regardless if you agree with me or not) is important to me. Please leave your feedback and don't forget to watch my video :) ** EDIT** PLEASE NOTE: This video was made before the sun breaker armor nerf. However the landfall topic is still relevant.** newer version of this issue: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/189778280 Sincerely, DirtMerchant LC

  • Poor reaction time maybe? I have been shotgunned to death trying to shoulder charge a defender in his bubble or when in mine the Titan managed to get me. If we are talking regular Crucible Shoulder Charge one shots all supers, but so can Blink Strike with its exotic (correct if wrong please but swear I have been stabbed by blink as Sunbreaker and was merc'ed). If it's Trials/Iron Banana even with the Grieves there have been many times I have not one shot a Guardian and the difference in my light and theirs is 4% at most which shouldn't have them have full Heath but no shields. Instead of calling for more nerfs, how about just having your class updated? I say roll Armour of Light & Blessing of Light into one perk because I always found having both kind of redundant but to balance it out when you leave the bubble the shield decays. Create a whole new perk that's got mobile defense. Maybe give everyone an overshield that's 80% as strong as Blessing of Light that's near you that can be recovered withing X amount of time so long as it isn't broken.
