"Jobs".
sitting on your ar*e playing video games all day is not a job, don't you think there's something immoral about the fact that people like SSSniperWolf have made $100,000s from basically streaming their cleavage while someone else plays a game for them for 4 years?
It's a great message to send to the next generation of kids, "Don't educate yourself, don't improve yourself as a human being & don't do something which benefits other people or the world... Instead sit at home playing video games and streaming all day".
Honestly the gaming industry was a much more enjoyable place when streaming wasn't a thing.
For a start the threshold for being able to make a liveable income should be far higher... do you not realise that dirtbags like netotigr have effectively viewbotted their way to earning income from streaming...

There is no merit in your view, I really can't even comprehend why this would even be a thing. First off these streamers are working as entertainers, just because they sit at home working by playing games all day should not detract from that. Try playing the same game 8 hours a day for over 18 months and it not feeling like work. You seem to think is a problem a woman using her assets to make a living, there are many outside of streaming that have been doing that for years from reality TV to page 3 and well most places in the media. You worry about the message it sends to the kids, Mary Whitehouse had that view dating back to 1963 and we all still managed to read and write fairly well and in the UK we have the highest ever number of people going to university. So chill don't watch streamers if you don't like it, its not going to have any impact to you.
-
"Highest ever number of people going to university" If you think that is somehow relevant to your point, you are sadly mistaken. That figure is due to the rise in population over the last 20 years + the access of university opening up to a broader population due to government & 3rd party funding... let's see what the number of people going to university is in a few years when the majority of them have changed to £9,000 tuition per year for the last 3 years... I guarantee it dips. So that point you made was absolutely irrelevant and had no place even being in your retort. I did sit playing games 8 hours a day, for 18 months... it was called student life & then unemployment after graduation. It's not a job, because your time is free & you are not contracted to be there. It's a hobby they get paid for at extortionate rates. As for women using their body, Sex sells, we all know that... & to a degree I don't really care what women use their body for in the right sector. But gaming is not that sector, and specifically streaming games... it just doesn't belong. It cheapens gaming imo, and was far better before streaming was even around for games. Go look on Live with Playstation or whatever it's called & I guarantee that any stream over 200 views in the Ustream section is a female showing too much... Any stream that has over 200 views in twitch is usually either a female, or a view botter... and these people are getting paid through subs for this & you want to sit there and act like it's justified? Lol... give me a break. I have no real issue with the elite gamers earning some what of a living. The whole MLG thing is justifiable because some people are just talented, & found their talented... Good for them. The money they can make is a little ridiculous (borderline celebrity money) but they still have talented to some degree so it is what it is. Normal streamers who gave up at life and saw video games as their emergency rescue option though... or use their body to get views, or view bot? No... Just no.

Sorry I should have been clearer its the highest percentage of the population going to university so actual numbers are irrelevant. Your statements are not backed up by facts, as this is a destiny forum i will keep it restricted to destiny streamers but for the record one of the most watched streamers is a man who does not use a webcam. So the top streamers in destiny are goth and broman both men both thankfully keep their shirts on. There are a couple of women streamers who also manage to keep there tops on. Your statement about sex has no place in gaming it just all kinds of dumb tomb raider did so well because or hey sex, even further back leisure Larry suite In short your points are not true
-
Edited by RadicalSpirit: 2/9/2016 9:15:23 AM"In shorts your point are not true" You literally tried to debate two points as you had no answer for the others, and even your retort to those points was weak. Top streamer is a guy with no cam huh? Please provide a link because I can almost certainly guarantee he is a viewbotter, which I have already covered. I'd suggest you go educate yourself on viewbotting before you make a point like that again. I don't believe I said sex has no place in gaming perse, I think if you look back at what I said & you could understand context, I said specifically in streaming, as that is the issue here. And it doesn't, streaming games should be about the quality of the player, that is streaming & maybe how they interact with the viewers to an extent. It should not be about a pair of t*ts on a face cam that is terrible at the game.. It's twitch, but it's turning into f*cking chaturbate. Don't you realise that a lot of cam girls over the years basically jumped ship to Twitch gaming on PC because they realise they could make more money... This has been going on for years you d*ckhead but you act like it barely exists. Why don't you clue yourself up on the subject matter first.

While I won't deny that I do troll people on here, & can be good at it.. it really has nothing to do with this conversation. Calling me a troll when you've been intellectually stomped out, and rebutted into a position of desolation, just shows your true weak nature as a man. You have a lot to work on, the world has changed.

That side of it does sound disgusting, I wasn't aware of this. Honestly giving people money for playing a game seems strange to me, but I guess that's the generation we live in. If I was to say all the things I thought just aren't right about the gaming industry compared to "Back in my day" then I'd be an incredibly grumpy person most of the time, but I'll stick to the mentality of why I played games "Back in my day" I do it for the fun and while I have watched streamers, I neither subscribe nor donate as doing so would ridicule my donations to Child's Play, but that's just me. I won't begrudge a new generation of dictating the way of things and honestly I'm too lazy and care to little to fight it, I just won't support which is both the least and the most I can do. I do see a reason for Twitch, however I can also see your point and it's introducing that disparity in earnings that happened in sports a long time ago. People really shouldn't be paid that much for doing something that is entertainment and doesn't add to the well being of peoples lives. I appreciate the knowledge bomb though Guardian.
-
I just don't think I'll ever be able to get over people being paid for streaming/recording, when streaming/recording was always something I & many others did for the pure fun of putting your content out there for others to see and maybe learn a few tricks from. It's unfortunately the way of the world, how can disgraceful human beings like Justin Bieber for example, earn millions and be set for generations, while nurses, doctors, police, firemen/women actually make a difference and can sometimes struggle to even survive financially. But that's another rant for another day.
-
you really have lost the plot, the crux of your argument is that people should not be paid to play games really idiotic view, but lets flesh this out in the hope you might get some education from it, as it surly lacking and I can understand why after leaving university you were unemployed, me on the other hand, left university and walked into a job and have never been unemployed for 20 years after. Right now to the debate, ok so your basic view is that people should not get paid to play games online, for that argument to stand up you have to expand that, there are two options here, 1 you have issues with people working from home, see google for many fine studies as to why this is a good thing or the other that people who do something they see as playing should not get paid, thankfully professional sports put paid to that, not even lets also forget about chess. Do you really want nurses, doctors (they really do earn a lot of money) police, firemen etc to earn lots of money and then encourage people to take up those careers for the money, you know like banking, and we all love bankers. Should we people who you know work and pay taxes be poor because we overpay the above people too much money. You don't like streamers that get paid, that's your hang up, did you try and fail, could it be that you are overly bitter about your failures that you need to project onto others.
-
That's it? That's your debate? Are you actually a retard? Just like in the last reply you sent me, you leave huge oversights that you don't even think about, almost like you're fully retarded. So you walked into a job straight after university 20 years ago... and you somehow think that's the same thing as me graduating a few years back still in a recession. Are you that f*cking stupid? Do you not realise that the access to University has exploded in the last 20 years making it easier for more people to get their through government funding & 3rd party student loans? That changes to policy in parliament caused this boom to be able to get more of the population into tertiary education... So saying "I had no trouble getting a job after my degree 20 years ago" literally means NOTHING, because 20 years ago a degree actually meant something, it actually had some value. Now it is almost a necessity!! The competition is FAR greater for every single job, whereas 20 years ago a degree would walk you into work. Do you not understand the difference between graduating in a time where the competition is fierce & when we were in a huge recession Vs a time when degrees hold value & there was no recession... f*cking moron. You must be a media or history graduate, no STEM graduate would be so short sighted. Moving on, my problem with streamers getting paid is a multitude of things. It's more of a gripe than anything, because it's just part of the world we live in so until they update the laws around digital content, it's not going anywhere. The idea that people can sit at home, playing a video game and getting paid for it, it's absurd... not only is it the lazy, easy way out of life, but it should actually be a challenge to do. You can literally view bot your way to the top (See netotigr) or just use the fact that you're a woman (Even if you are terrible at the game) to get to the top and start earning...in some cases more than Nurses, Doctors, etc etc. Also what world are you living in? You honestly tried to say that all nurses, doctors, firemen & police get paid a lot... Lol are you serious dude... Do you not realise that Police barely make average income in some countries? After having to do voluntary policing for a year first.... Or that a lot of nurses need overtime to even make a liveable wage? Hell some GPs don't make what you'd think even when busting their hump for 60 hours a week all year. The average salary of a fireman was something like $45,000 the last time I checked... That's not a lot, especially for putting your life on the line. But these lazy people who have failed at life, failed in education and gave up, can sit at home and make $50,000+ from playing video games & you think that's ok? Lol give me a break. My advice to you, go back to school, get your f*cking knowledge up before you make BOGUS statements which highlight you know nothing about the modern world, and adjust your moral compass, d*ckhead.

Must not feed idiot trolls lesson learned,

Your lesson should be, educate yourself on life & don't make up nonsense statements that you can get called on. Now get the f*ck outta here you chump.
-
I can see why gainful employment eluded you
-
This guy still trying... it's sad to see when someone got roasted & yet they still want to try insult someone because they can't accept they were beaten. Even though I never told you how long it took me to gain employment in a desolate economy, you still like to assume that someone my attitude on here, or the way I destroyed you in a debate has something to do with it. Considering the possible factors of location, opportunity in the area, field of choice, etc... it's quite an assumption for you to make that it would be anything other than those factors. It really just goes to highlight your bitterness, you lost this debate yesterday by having every point you put forward torn to pieces by a superior intellect, so cut your losses & run along. Anyway, I won't drag out a debate which is already over, & I can tell you're the petulant type that would keep trying to get the last word in just to somehow feel like you've won so I'll solve this problem right now. Muted.

Odd i didn't see you make any valid points foolish troll
