No, it's not hard to believe. It's just not really an answer other than stating the obvious.
why should getting carried through Trials be any different?
because because it is PvP while others are PvE, therefore it is held to different standards. "why is it held to different standards?" i hear you ask? PvE things are completely cooperative. Youre meant to work together. PvP event while cooperative, is also competitive. Meaning there are other humans going for the same rewards. Your actions will affect the other team, while PvE won't affect the other team. (because there isn't one.) so they are held in different lights because PvP actions affect other humans, potentially negatively. Thats all.

All I hear is elitist bullshit. Somehow you are going to try to convince me that two very strong players and one weak player somehow are less deserving of the Lighthouse than three strong players. These two sherpas are so good at PvP that they can give themselves a handicap, a weaker third teammate, and still get to the lighthouse. These guys are so good that they can essentially go 2v3 and still win. These guys are likely going to beat their competition regardless. So, tell me, how in the hell is this affecting anybody?

lol chill man. not once did i say it was bad. not once did i state my opinion on sherpas. sounds like you have a stick up your ass that needs to be pulled out.

Sounds like you enjoy playing the word game. So do politicians. You stated potentially negative consequences of carrying someone and omitted any of the positives. You did everything but express an opinion on sherpas. You ever consider getting into politics?
-
so they are held in different lights because PvP actions affect other humans, potentially negatively (or positively) would that have pleased you? would it help get the stick out?
You did everything but express an opinion on sherpas.
And that matters why?

Having an opinion is like picking a side. Don't be a fence sitter. It's better to pick a side than be neutral. Nobody likes Switzerland.

again, my intention wasnt to voice my own opinion. it was to answer his question as to why they are treated differently. Unless im being just as clear as before or your view hasnt changed since my first post, we'd just go in circles at this point.

Except, in this case, the obvious is an answer and the answer is obvious.

The obvious answer is anyone one good enough to carry a weak player was likely going to beat their competition anyway. As such, carrying a weak player thought Trials is completely fine and does in fact show off really talented players. It also shows how skillful these players are that they can create a built-in handicap for themselves and still win. If the Lighthouse is meant for the best of the best then these sherpas are doing exactly what was intended...being the best even with a handicap.

Obviously.
