First of all, after playing Rift for some practice, as you do, being my team's line-breaker and getting 30~ kills every single game, I have a few small things to say - F*** Mida-Shotgun, F*** the nerf to shotguns, F*** the blink nerf, F*** the scout buff, and... oh one more thing. F*** your awful 'skill-based' matchmaking. Preface this rant with the disclaimer that I'm using all of the above, and it's still viable. Your 'nerfs' did literally nothing to the butt-rush spawn-lock strat, thanks to MiDA being very very very viable in the current meta. K/D might be trash in most games, but the point is that it's more than viable, it's actually better than TLW/Sniper which is seen as a top-tier loadout for 6v6 these days. Right. SO, what am I saying about the shotgun nerf? They're incredibly inconsistent. I'm having to plug 3 shells at a time into one guy to get a kill, with a full auto Deidris' retort, which is the best shotgun for this strat, FYI. Conspiracy theory-D with range finder is the only shotty in the game that's any bit consistent, at all, at the moment. You can expect with a degree of certainty that your shell will kill, although you're screwed if you come up against more than 1 person. I'm getting triples off of sticking someone with a flux 'nade, which i'll talk about in a bit also, shotgunning one guy and meleeing him with a blink strike, and shotgunning the last guy twice. This isn't an uncommon occurence in the games i'm in. *i'll get to solutions to these issues at the bottom of this huge rant. What am I saying about the blink nerf? Again, it does literally nothing to the MiDA shotgun strat on blade dancers. I can run mida and quick-swap to a shottie after blinking, which, thanks to the nerf, isn't penalised at all since the swap timer is faster than my ready-up time. GG bungie for that awful failing of common sense to actually check possible synergies with your content. Is your QA department made up of people who are underpaid or something? Because none of them seem to do anything other than what's prescribed for them to do. Also on the blink nerf, melees aren't penalised. You can literally melee as fast as you could before, and i'm fairly sure grenades are the same. If I happen to blink into a crowd, I can stick one of them and usually get a kill off of it, and if I happen to find one person who's weak, blink onto their head, blink strike down, finish them off and they have no chance of responding to it. ATM all it means is that voidwalkers are pretty much only viable if you use the ram and as a shutdown class. TL;DR your blink nerf was irrelevant to blade dancers, which were the prime culprit causing the hate towards it. What am I saying about MiDA? It's not op? Surely? Surely a gun that's been average throughout Destiny's history isn't op at all, surely? Yeah, not what I'm saying. MiDA's skill requirement to use is tiny, versus it's effectiveness. HC rounds on a fast-firing scout? Are you mad? Snipers barely have a chance unless they're supported and a team mate is helping them out. I'm completely clearing sniper lanes off of the scope-sway from H/C rounds, and in a fairly good time thanks to its TTK being made relevant. Roughly 1 second per kill, which is slower than the thinking time of most people, so good luck managing to get to cover with about 40 health remaining and still in my line of sight. TL;DR Mida's too good for how easy it is to use - needs HC rounds removing and the Aim Assist nerfing. Your god awful attempt at skill-based matchmaking? Let's not even open the can of worms that talks about the fact that you lied to the community about the MM consequences to implementing this back in SRL patch, blagging it off with some BS excuse. Lets not even talk about the fact that your pardon for this was 'uhhhh yeah there are no people playing crucible that dont play it often so uhhhh Git Gud scrub'. Let's talk about the fact that in previous seasons, my matches consisted of maybe 4-5 games with no issues with 'latency' *which is a tech term confirming you are aware that the issues are on your end of the system*, then maybe 1-2 matches following where one guy on a team has some seriously bad, like 1000~ ping bad, connection issues to the game. We maybe laugh about it and say 'Oh my god, when this game ends he's still gonna be there.' or 'Lol he's probably gonna be 4 years late to the next patch with that lag' Now? It's literally every other game I find people who are invincible due to lag and kill me after i've plugged an entire mag of MiDA into their skulls, gotten the hit marks and gone 'lolwat'. TL;DR your matchmaking is killing the game, if you dont reverse it you're gonna see it exemplified in the IB coming soon, and god help you if you try and lie to the community again. TL;DR version of the entire post Stop coming up with half-baked insta fix solutions to the game, and sit down with your damn community and visibly and audibly talk to them about what they want to see. If your next DLC isn't 10/10, the second coming of christ in game form, utterly industry changing, and you haven't fixed the matchmaking issues, this game's gonna die. And on all your heads be it. A note from myself: I've been with the game since The Dark Below, skipping on pre-ordering when I caught the whiff of stupid-move when you left MS for Activision, laughing maniacally when my choice was rewarded. I decided to give the game a try, falling completely in love with Crota and the crucible, even if the raid was a shambles of appalling Quality Assurance from your dev team. Skolas was a joke, but Trials kept me involved, even if I was never any good at it. When you decided that you'd leave Thorn and TLW in the state they were in, even if TLW was my favourite gun in any game even today, I decided to take a break from caring about the game. I came back and instantly fell in love with The Taken King again, loving every moment of playing... Up until the lack of content became apparent, even whilst you were touting it as 'The biggest expansion yet!' even though it had about as much content as House of Wolves did for half the price. Dont get me wrong, it was of an outstanding quality, which didn't make me too salty about the extra, unjustifiable £20, nearly 1/3 more than the US customer base, which I found funny when they complained about it, since we were paying $65, or something similar, for the same expansion... But when did all of that come to an end? Well, when I realised you lie to your community, you refuse to share information with them about crucial updates, you keep them in the dark, and your community manager posts completely irrelevant pictures at the end of a weekly update that did more to kill confidence in bungie than ever before, and when you decided to completely refuse to comment on any of this. What am I gonna do? Well, first of all i'm not buying your next expansion unless it's as I said before, 10/10, the second coming of christ in game form. Second of all, if you still haven't taken the advice not only I, and thousands of others have been screaming at you for weeks now, I'm gonna quit. Not only that, i'm gonna snap my disc, and make an MLG montage about shards of it flying into your servers and being the reason why your damn connection is so appaling. I'll also never return and be hater from then on :) And I can guarantee you I won't be alone. Delete this post and try to silence me if you wish, you have a figurative timebomb at your HQ, and it's called 'Mistreating our Community'. Defuse it, or you'll all lose your jobs by the end of next year, I can guarantee you that. Saltiest Destiny Player in the World, out.
If you want them to jump at command maybe destiny should be P2P

  • I mean, it kind of is since we have to buy fresh content instead of it being completely free.

  • Like you said your buying new content not paying to play there is a huge difference.

  • Yeah there is, and people can choose to stop buying those updates and simply play the vanilla until they listen to feedback. People probably wont since they're dumb, but server population's already like 10% of what it was pre taken king on the xbox one, so...

  • If i order a cupcake and it has raisins in it, I'm not throwing it away ill take out the raisins or eat around them, they are giving us a year of free content we should be happy. I understand your frustration but there are 2 choices Continue the fight while the issues are addressed or move on and forget the stress. I can tell you love the game but remember its a game have fun

Your analogy needs an amendment. Instead of raisins being the issue, the entire muffin is made from whole-bran oats, which, you happen to utterly despise the taste and feel of. The chocolate chips, at first, make the muffin bearable, but after a while the utterly bland, cement-like properties of the bran make the muffin uneatable, and you realise you've wasted your $3. See where I'm going with this, yet?

  • Completely so my advice is instead of asking the chef to make you another. just try a different place cause the next one you get could have spit in it. Give them time my friend because like you said I've already paid my $3.00 so they know i was interested

  • So have I. And I already have. More than a year to sort their shit out, and more than $200 spent on this game, buying the 360 version and its dlc, then moving up and having to buy the DLC again. Not including basically buying a $300 Xbox one basically to play with friends. Can you see why I'm furious that this game is still the joke of the gaming industry, yet?

  • I did the same thing but with ps4, bought it for destiny even promised myself that it would be my shooter for the next 10 years, am i disappointed by some of the changes it has had? yes i have but is it enough for me to stress out no. Why? Because I've played many MMO'S during my time as a gamer and i learned one thing P2P games have the $ support needed to truly satisfy Their players, games counting on dlc can only do so much since its a constant investment to push out quality content + fix problems which never come singly. I'm amazed and glad we are getting a free dlc bigger than TTK for free.

  • BS. RuneScape's profits have been at an all-time low recently, and they have a much better handle on player feedback than Destiny does, with about 25% the team size as well, and they still manage to trawl the forums for feedback, do consistent QA testing, and release good quality content regularly. Bungie doesn't get enough money for that? Are you mad? Their revenue is probably edging into the billions right about now from, day dot onwards, if not they're definitely 9 figures of huge, nearing that golden 10. Lets assume they don't make enough money to respond to player feedback, what's the point in carrying on playing, then? Also, source for 'bigger than TTK' please, from all accounts i've heard it's meant to be comparable to House of Wolves, which, although I said had more content, was less in size and more about repeatables.
