Waiting for all the "but gods 7 days could be a billion years each" bullshit that they use to explain their beliefs.
Sorry folks, if the evidence contradicts your beliefs, it's time to change your beliefs.
English

-Asks for evidence of belief -Is given logical evidence -Calls it BS which somehow automatically makes it BS even though he's only one of 8 billion people on this earth -Nj OP, nj

But gods 7 days are billions of years!

Sorry folks, if the evidence contradicts your beliefs, it's time to change your beliefs.
I believe the days of creation in the Bible were God's was of showing a sequence, not a specific length of time. I'm a Christian, but I believe the universe is about 14.7 billion years old.
-
Time is relevant and we only measure time based off of our perception/understanding of time.
-
Time is relevant
True, it is. It's also relative, meaning no matter what subjective increments we impose on it, some things have longer durations than others. The same goes for a dimension such as length.

Not all evidence is the truth
-
Not all evidence is the truth
But evidence certainly can disprove, and that's what its doing here.
-
True so there can be evidence to disprove this
-
I'd prefer to believe tested evidence over some book
-
What? But evidence is supposed to be fact, so therefore it is the truth
-
-blam!- he made earth in 7 days which is 7000 years because 1 year on earth is 1000 years in heaven just think about when he made the universe the universe is -blam!-ing huge
-
Wait... So explain dinosaurs. Why are the bones age over the 7000 years you suggest. It's fact that they are millions of years old through radioactive dating. So.... Take that.
-
I think I got it backwards 1000 years on earth is 1 day in heaven
-
Oh this is a recognized conversion?
-
Edited by Jurassic_Wow: 1/30/2016 12:25:29 AMStill, so earth is 13000 years old? 6000 + 7000? That doesn't equal in the millions so... What the heck are dinosaurs
-
Then obviously it's not a million years old
-
As I said before, radioactive dating PROVES that dinosaurs are millions of years old. And rocks on the sea floor have ages in the billions of years old. So... The Earth cannot be 13000 years old. Or else a lot of things should not exist.
-
How long has earth been around?
-
THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW EXCEPT THE EARTH I guess and God
-
Not true
-
Well if the thing that we used to figure out how old the earth is was made by humans than how do we know it's true
-
Are you 13?
-
Are you gonna insult me or tell me that I'm not true

Edited by cowboy8252000: 1/25/2016 5:21:59 AMThink about this for just a second. If a farmer that was never taught to count past 100 (or the highest earnings they may ever make, which they would deem as the highest number they would need to know) was encountered by said God, how would said farmer be able to understand the sheer magnitude of a number such as a billion? Surely, if there was a said deity, it would be able to cross that gap of knowledge through metaphorical uses (as in the seven days). Because a direct transfer of knowledge to the farmer would seem irrational and/or incoherent and possibly change what is described as a 'billion' in the future because of the number's pre-existence to its creation. Forgive any bias I am blind to, for I may not be the person destined to explain to you this concept (or if there will ever be someone, knowing that certain personalities are too stubborn to explain anything 'new' to) as well as it is rather late being 12:18AM EST currently. I hope this somehow expanded your understanding of how others think.

That makes the entire passages under said idiot farmer a poor source. So, basically, this whole thing is full of contradictions and impossibilities. The simple answer with all the scientific proof, its probably more credible than the random hypotheticals you are suggesting.
