This "proves" to me that the problems with destiny don't entirely fall on the shoulders of activision.

  • Yep Craptivision are the publisher so they had no say as to how the game was developed but scumgie on the other hand they are the developers and they had all the say in how the game was developed so they f.ucked up of course craptivision should carry some of the blame but most of it is scumgies fault

  • You do realize that activision doesn't have the same control over blizzard as they do bungie? Like blizzard joined them on conditions that activision stays the -blam!- out of their way. While bungie signed on to activision and in the process sold their freedom away...

  • Do you have a link to an article that says what you just told me

  • It's literally in the Activision Blizzard wikipedia, just search the two names. Pretty much the first result.

  • It's literally repeated in the comments below. You can probably google it. It's pretty well known that blizzard joined on conditions that they stay blizzard and activision only gets a hefty paycheck(all info was released around the time of the merger). Also it's fairly old so I wouldn't know the site off the top of my head but I'm sure kotaku has an article about it somewhere in their archives.

  • Yeah, the point of the post isn't a bad one but Blizzard has had a lot more clout than Bungie for a much longer time. Activision can't really order around self publishing veterans of the games industry the same way they can a small studio that left Microsoft because "super nice offices and corporate culture". I've always been of the mind that Bungie could have and should have self published. After Halo and those years with Microsoft they were essentially bullet proof. That's not the case anymore.

Agree. Except for one fact. Blizzard wont let them -blam!- with their games. they are independent on the developing. (idea wise)

  • Agreed. Blizzard had enough money (i.e. power), that when they merged to partner with Activi$ion, they were able to stay mostly autonomous. Blizzard has much more say in what they do than Activi$ion would like for people to realize.

  • Blizzard is not owned by activision, they are their own company, that's why they are called, "activision blizzard," that's what a merger is, do your homework

I knew this already. Hence why i used the terms "Merger", "Autonomous", and "Partnership". If I had mistakenly thought that Blizzard had been bought by Activi$ion, I would have stated "when Activi$ion bought Blizzard...", but I didn't. I stated it correctly. Calm down a bit.
