My Crazy Idea: Personal Bunks

Hello everyone, and thank you for opening my post. Here I will detail an idea I've had for some time, the potential it has and how to implement it. Enjoy and keep the thread alive with your feedback. What is this? It’s basically an adaptation of a personal apartment or space for Destiny. I’m basing this mostly from GTA’s apartments and RuneScape’s housing system. What’s in these bunks? In my vision these bunks would start as just an empty square room and would progress into our own personal social areas with possibly vaults and postmasters included. In my vision we would have different rooms for different functions, here are a few of them: • Main Room: This would be where you spawned in. Along with maybe building seating and some décor here would be the perfect place to add in a vault and a postmaster, maybe even our own cryptarch. • Ship dock: Did you ever bring people down to your garage in GTA to show off your cars? Well let’s make a display room for whatever ship you are currently driving. I mean if our ships have no practical use we might as well display them for cosmetics; maybe add your current sparrow in the corner.
(Arcrunner ftw)
• Gun range: First off, how is this not a thing? I’m tired of having to go into patrol and shooting at a wall to measure my guns and get a semi accurate idea of how good the perks are. If we could have a firing range to test our gear it would be amazing to test out different weapons and improve the current crucible meta. • Soccer court: This one I added just for laughs. I mean you already have soccer balls in Destiny, one in the Tower and another one in Bannerfall, all you need to do is make us 2 goal posts and we have a court and a whole new minigame. Just make 2 poles on either side and we’ll score that (I hesitant about a net because I believe the ball will get stuck). Those are just some ideas, I’m sure you’ll come up with better ones in the comments. How to make it work? Here’s where I borrow from RuneScape’s concept of a Building Skill. Just like we have ranks for factions, vanguard, crucible, and so on, we can make a Construction Rank or something of the sort. The more you build you will unlock new things and rooms to add to your bunker. We should start off by making this all ridiculously expensive in order to produce more playable time, for example getting the first room of the bunker, just that square empty space, will cost us 25K glimmer. I know it sounds like a lot but didn’t they already charge us 17K for that one queen’s ship? It would work. From there building different objects such as seats, tables, maybe even a jukebox like the one in the tower, will all cost us materials. Want a seat? 30 spinmetal. Jukebox? Tough luck, go get some Hadium Flakes. And so on.. The rooms could be bought for either high amounts of glimmer or high amounts of legendary marks. Heck, maybe make some silver-exclusive side of it and you can make money out of this. And lastly since a cryptarch or a postmaster require an actual NPC, let us hire them using any currency, maybe strange coins? Closing argument Now I know it’s a lot to take into consideration and this is only the tip of the iceberg but my intention was to prove this is an appealing idea and it could work in the current Destiny system. I would love feedback from the community, let me know what else you would add as well. Thank you for reading to my crazy mumblings. I look forward to discussing this with you, guardians.
