When you infuse a weapon or piece of gear to a higher defense level it will raise the gears defense level of the one you infused. Thus maybe highering your light level which is the average attack and defense of your character. Use this when infusing to get accurate results: http://www.destinyinfused.com/ Intellect decreases the cool down timer for your super. Strength reduces the cool down timer of your melee ability Discipline decrease the cool down timer of your grenades.

  • Thank but that already known info there. I want to know the increase to stats (int, dis, str) I get per defense point.

  • Those don't change when you infuse gear. Its one of the reasons gear infusing exists: to get that perfectly-rolled piece of gear up to your light level.

  • Um stats increase when defense goes up dude. Otherwise infusing would be pointless.

When it states "consume a more powerful piece of armor to boost the defense value of this armor" it is referring to the defense number on the current gear, the stats such as intellect, strength, discipline are separate and often boosted by upgrading the gear but not by infusing it. For example infuse let's say a 318 into a 320. Only the defense number will go up to 320, not the individual stats. That is why people infuse so they can higher their light level which is the average attack and defense of the character.

  • Known. Now what is the threshold for those. Ex: I have a 311 int 30 dis 31 ghost. I also have a 320 int 31 dis 33 ghost. So if I boosted the 311 up to 320 what would the stats be higher then the other?

The 311 would go up a number/numbers but the stats would probable average it out. No idea on that one though. You should give it a go and let us know as an experiment :)!

  • Knowing the math is all random. But the individual stats will go up according to some users on Reddit.
