I see all these comments about ppl being "burnt" after 1000 PLUS hours of a video game. Sure the game is in a serious content drought, but to say you got 1000 hours and feel there is nothing left to do is laughable. Of course there isn't more to do right now and I would hope at 1000 hours you would get most of it completed. Granted, I have played thus game since launch and have double the hours invested, but I play the game 5 days a week bc it is FUN and the friends i chat and laugh with . Sure I have done everything and have most everything to offer in the game, but this game is fun bc of the social bonds and the ppl I play with. That's what keeps me playing.
On another note, I agree the content is lacking and they are losing LOTS of devoted players. Last year at this time we had a SECOND hard raid already released, Dark Below explansion, and another expansion to come in months. They do need to do something fast. As much as I enjoy playing it with friends, there is only so much you can do over and over. It doesn't help that their latest tweet delays any news of any major content announcements even further. They seem to be best when they don't say anything at all, at least then we can HOPE something is coming soon and won't be disappointed with nearly every weekly update since TTK released.
I won't use the tired excuse that "it's ok to play another game for awhile"....bc that is what Bungie tells us all. Sadly it's all they can say bc I fear they have nothing to offer and won't in terms of content for a long time.
But in perspective, I feel if you have gotten even half of the 1000 hours out of any game that you have from Destiny, it was well worth it in terms of cost. But to be bored in terms of content at 1200 hours is expected....sadly the only thing keeping players like me around is the friends I laugh with while shooting aliens in the face. Sadly, another negative is all those friends i made over the years werent FOUND IN the game, i had to find them thru outlets not available in game....but thats a whole other gripe. Bungie has prob the most fluid and wonderful gunplay mechanics of any shooter I played, but they need to start satisfying the urge their player base has in someway...and soon. At some point the extremely devoted will leave, and won't come back. Cheers.
they cut content for microtransactions. they had one game and chopped it up so they can release 5 different games. why? because the old halo-bungie composer marty did the music for all 5 games already and got paid for it in the settlement but activision and their newly installed cronies had too much power after their deal and bungie is now a puppet like infinityward and interfered with the studio during development.
