I would like some network troubleshoot help.

Hello! My name is Mason but you can call me MCF. I don't have my own personal computer so I'm not typically found here on the forums (usually shooting the baddies with my roommates and other cool people in the destiny universe) but I am in dire need of help. My current situation is typical but I can't understand what brought it upon me. about six months ago my roommates and I (three of us) switched our ISP and it was working great until about two weeks ago. We all have Playstation 4's and would connect just fine but for whatever reason, we now have a type 3 NAT status and only two us can connect and not one of us can get a fair connection. It makes playing Crucible a joke and chatting in the party system impossible. I have tried several static IP settings and believe I am on the right track to fixing it, but I can't seem to find the sweet spot. I either have Type 3 Nat or no connection at all. The Bungie website has helped me in figuring out which ports need to be open and forwarded so that the Playstation can connect without any interference but I can't seem to get it right. So my question is how can I fix this? or What is my next step to try? I don't have a kick ass gaming router and I will eventually (I'm sure this would fix everything) but I would like to get this to work in the meantime. My router has my playstation set to a static IP address and that is confirmed upon multiple connection tests. I have a port forward page on my routers gateway control panel that reads as follows: Checkbox to enable - Private IP Address - Port # - Type TCP or UDP - Source IP/Mask - Public IP/Mask - Port# so the checkbox is enabled for all of the port settings I have. Bungie.net says to forward these ports for the Playstation 4. 3378-3480, 3074, 2001. I don't exactly know how to forward a port inbound or outbound. I assume the Private IP address would be for my playstation but I don't know what the source IP/Mask or Public IP/Mask values are. I feel like if I can figure those out then it would work! :D I'm ready to die now! Can anyone help me?

  • New update. After applying changes on my router using no value inputs on the Source IP and Public IP fields, I have a type 2 connection which accomplishes what I was after. Yay!! however, Destiny will not load. Destiny gives me an error stating that the Destiny servers are unavailable. I have friends playing online right now so that can't be it. It seems it is my Destiny to not play Destiny today.

  • Hi there, Are you using wifi? If so, please try switching to a wired connection temporarily. This is an important first troubleshooting step to rule out wireless signal strength/stability as a possible cause.
