How did they not work? You realize it's saying they each sold over a million right? Not combined?

  • These aren't Atari 2600 games. AAA cost a lot of money to make and most AAA games 2-3 million in sales to break even, much less be profitable.

Not sure where you are getting that. Most AAA games need to sell 300 to 400 thousand to be profitable. All of these games have gone well beyond that. I mean Halo 5 made over 400$ million in its first week. I think you have a deluded sense of what is successful,

Dude, it's time you learned about the real word of business:
Not sure where you are getting that.
Here's a nice article on where I'm getting that: http://kotaku.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-make-a-big-video-game-1501413649 Remember, the cost of a game is development + marketing + profit for investors. And before you say $60 * 1M is $60M, remember that's the mark-up at retail. The real price is 25 to 30% less, minus the console franchise fee, minus the cost of distribution, and then of course minus any discounts as the price drops over time.
Most AAA games need to sell 300 to 400 thousand to be profitable.
AAA means big budget games not indie titles like Braid or Super Meat Boy.
I mean Halo 5 made over 400$ million in its first week.
Halo 5 hardware + software sold $400M in the first week after the release of Halo 5. Microsoft never revealed Halo 5 sales on their own. Microsoft also never revealed Halo 5's development and marketing costs. Judging by what I've seen, both were huge.
I think you have a deluded sense of what is successful,
In the real world of for profit corporations, successful means making the most profit. Breaking even is akin to losing, because you lost the opportunity to develop a profitable game.

  • All of that and you still have no proof or indication that any of them weren't profitable. Like I said, I think you have a deluded sense of what is successful.

  •
you still have no proof or indication that any of them weren't profitable.
Looks like someone can't support their argument and wants me to do their research for them. If you can show me proof these games were profitable, I'll edit my main post.

  • That's not proof. If you came up with that as proof, it means you don't have any and are really reaching.
